They're actually quite reasonable.. well, they're far more reasonable than some of the prices quoted by UK sites (as postage tends to be the killer): Milk Duds for €1.79, Twizzlers from €1.90, Reeses Mini Peanut Butter Cup for 20c each.

Free shipping on orders over €50.. so useful if you get a couple of friends together to make a mass order. Otherwise - it's a €5 shipping up to 30kg.

They also sell Vanilla Coke, do drive up every so often to get enough to pass the shakes.

If you send them an e-mail they tend to drop the price of a product, or throw in one for free (I e-mailed asking about the price of posting 12 cans and he offered 12 for the price of 9 [€4.50 off])...worth a shot at least.

Unsure about this being a "bargin alert". I've looked at a number of sweeties and are no cheaper than here. 2.95 for 100g of sweets ain't cheap.

They're not cheap.. but some of the retro / rare / American sweets are very reasonable.

Do a comparison of them with postage on similar sites.. works out MUCH cheaper!

really interested in the soft drink but definitely not cheap..

the cans 330 ml are 1.50 each..

recently saw pound shop selling mountain dew bottle 500ml for only 1 euro each

    that will be the bummer

Tell me any pound shops selling Vanilla Coke cans, cherry coke etc.. they're importing them from america, and while obviously applying a mark up I'd gladly pay €1.50 for a can of the stuff, isn't it €1 in most takeaways/shops by this stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,201 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Normal cans are €1 in majority of shops now, so €1.50 is not bad for a rare drink.

Got a load of Cherry Coke in Enniskillen in a Poundland for 50p a can though.

And the Mountain Dew here is not the same as the one the site.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,964 ✭✭✭Cherry_Cola

When I was in the UK Poundland did 3 cans of Cherry Coke for £1. I know an Irish branch called Dealz has opened up in different parts of the country so maybe try there.

I will be picking up some milk duds from this though!

If your based in dublin, the euro50 store (pound shop) besides Iceland in the Ilac Centre has bottles of cherry coke, I think they were 1.5L for €1.50.

I'm in Galway, but I still don't think it's as unreasonable as the poster made it seem, especially if it's not available near you and as Basq said it's alot cheaper than other online shops.

It's a niche item that is difficult to get your hands and they do deals on bulk purchases too, I think the stuff on their site is good value.

I was in Berlin a few years ago and a huge deaprtment store (forget its name) had a food court with 'foods of the world' specialities on sale. Amongst those on sale were cans of US Coca Cola for about €1.80. Witness an American buy 24 cans and bucketload of sweets and biscuits. He didn't mind paying the premium for a taste of home

And yes, there is a difference in taste.

Cheers OP. The postage makes this an excellent deal

(and again something being a good deal, doesn't make it cheap...)

That's what I'm saying, it's a reasonable price for a niche item, the other poster said it was too dear..

Lol, I actually took the name from an Eagles of Death Metal song having never previously tried Cherry coke. Since that Poundland deal I've tried it and love it :D

have yiz tried the cherry 7up in the €2 shops? It's gorgeous! I also got white chocolate Lion bars recently, they're bloody amazing!

Back on topic: I am gonna order a ton of pretzel flipz. God I was addicted to them when they sold them in Ireland!

Take A&W rootbeer for example.. you can get them at Asia Market around Drury street for 95 cents per can last time I check.. compared to 1.50 and may I remind you that 1.50 does not even include shipping..

Not sure about Cherry coke but as other poster had said pound shop sells Cherry 7up and they are 5 for 2Eur.

Look I'm not here to argue with you, all I'm saying is that the drinks are a bit steep in price with the markup relative to other items they sell, therefore not great value.. the sweets however does look decently priced

A few of the Asian supermarkets have 2L bottles of mountain dew, though it is probably not the EU one which is not the same as the US as said.

Same with vanilla coke, though I think many prefer the vanilla coke which was out here.

amazon also sell stuff free delivery if over £25

I have Basq, when you first try it it tastes a bit weird but it sort of grows on you. I love it now.

I had a sip, said "That's disgusting!" and ended up drinking the whole can in one go!

thanks a mill OP - it's a great link to have! Brings back many childhood memories just looking at them! I recommend to everyone here to get a can of root beer and some vanilla ice cream, and have yourself a root beer float :D I bought some of the Australian brand that comes in the glass bottles (can't remember the name!) and made my friend's son a root beer float when I was minding him, he loved it :)

    4 X 330mls for €1.49 .... yes, €1.49 for 4 .... glug glug
