a picture taken every day

hi have found recently my motivation for getting out and about taking pictures diminished as of late so in an effort to try and motivate myself i started a blog where i have to take a minimum of one picture every day. Just posting here to see if anyone else was interested in posting to blog to do same

Perhaps, if anyone who was participating in the photo a day (a 365 yea?) would post their results here each day. That way there is a bit of additional motivation and you could be poked if you miss a day

Great idea though - a collaborative 365 kinda. Don't know that I'd have the motivation (or time) just at the moment but I would love to see the results.

i've tried to do this three years in a row, failing each time.
i'm going to do the 1 a week next year... project 52 .. easier than 365.
anyone who completes 365 deserves a pat on the back! best of luck guys!

I am the same of dirtygettokid. I have started one of these each year for the last few years and only manage to get a few weeks in. I am this year going to do the 52 in a year. One each week. Yet to decide if I will do a theme or just random.

a theme might be good. would be interested to hear ideas!
i managed 3 weeks in 2009, 3 months in 2010 and just under 9 months this year. i found that some days i didn't have time to plan out a pic and quality was being affected.. it might be better to pick a theme and do a planned out shot once a week - something that's really special.
or self portraits perhaps so see how you change over a year?

I started this 2 years ago (a photo a day blog), lasted 5 days.
In my defence, a bad fall on ice put a halt to it.
You can each set up a Flickr page, make friends with each other and when you post a pic everyone will see it.
One word of warning, for those who don't know: Flickr is very addictive. !!!
Count me in.

and in response to the 1 a week one, my thinking behind every day was that yes i know that not every pic is goin to b great but sometimes due to work or weather we do take a lazy one but for me that gives me more motivation then to get out and take a good one on my next available day out and to really make the effort to do so

I'm struggling to motivate myself lately too. The 365 one sounds great, but there is no way I'd be able to complete it. The 52 challenge might work though...

Great idea, this is what got me hooked on photography four years ago. I joined a photo a day group on another forum....I'm the only one that kept on snapping.

I've joined 365 camera pictures (as Moigno). Utterly pedantic I know, but this is a Leap Year so does this mean we can take a break on Feb 29th?

This project is proving to be tricky but it is forcing me to take the camera out and have my eyes open every day.

Nice addition this week Janine. How much did the big stopper set you back? Did the blue cast cause a lot of hassle?

thanks a mill! got the big stopper as a present for christmas. i know my husband paid well over the odds (& i gave out to him for doing so!)
the holder itself & 77mm adapter ring set me back €130 in conns
hubby didn't know you need to have the foundation kit + adapter ring.. it's scary to know how many hundreds of euro are sat at the end of my lens :pac:

the blue cast was quite significant. when i'd colour corrected those shots though, i thought they looked a bit drab... so i sampled the colour off another image of mine to make them a bit more pleasing. it was really the wrong time of day to be heading out for those shots... but i was anxious to try it out. i hope to get some better shots using it soon!

Yeah anywhere I have looked it isn't cheap!! So I think I'll have to hold out and get it for a present also!!

yea, i am having to upload my pic the same day every week.. if you uploaded your first pic on a tuesday, you can't upload the next week til tuesday
my day is wednesday.

i've changed the 52 project group so that a picture can be submitted once per day - this means that you don't have to wait an entire week to post the next picture. just make sure there's one photo per calendar week anyway

How are people finding the 366 shots. I'm slowly trying new things out, so it is definitely working that way for me. Just hard to keep thinking of ideas.

Having lazy days when the weather is not really putting much thought into the shot sometimes but that in turn gives me great motivation to get out when the days are good to try and get a great shot, wad out the past two days in glorious weather
