Thinking of Switching Creatine (Advice)

Hi all, have been taking Creatine Monohydrate for the past few months, it's approaching time for me to order my next batch and I'm getting sick of using the powder as all the brands I've tried don't absorb 100% into my shakes. (Have tried warm water but it makes me sick). So I'm contemplating getting tabs this time round. I was looking at these:

    http://www.universalnutrition.ie/product/18/ALRI_CR2_240_caps

From the summary this isn't just Monohydrate it's Creatine Ethyl Ester, so basically I was wondering is there any ill effects to health in general from this product if I switch to it? And is it good value for money?

    I had been taking this:

    Thanks in advance.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that creatine ethyl ester turned out not to be so great, so if you want to stick to monohydrate you could get a capsule machine and make them yourself. Something like this http://www.capsuleconnection.com/

Alternatively, myprotein has monohydrate caps but they're a good bit more expensive than their powder, which I find dissolves well in a whey + milk shake.

That's weird because I have been mixing it with milk and whey and it's always left most of it crystallised around the sides and bottom of the shaker. And I do shake it well before drinking. Both the brand I linked above and the BiotTech USA own brand have given me this problem.

I don't think I'd have the space for a capsule machine in my apartment with all the other appliances my small kitchen is full of. All I've read about the ethyl ester is the summary on the site above and it seems to convince people that it's far superior to Monohydrate. But based on just how enthusiastic the summary is I said I'd ask here first as it's a real American sales pitch if you ask me.

Does anyone have any experience using it?

Creatine mono is so incredibly cheap you'd be better of finding away of making it soluble. I know you're averse to the hot water solution but I find any other approach means its not getting absorbed (and is also ruining your day with stomach distress).

As I understand it if the Creatine is not in solution in some form or another it won't absorb particularly well when it hits your digestive system. Capsules will not change this. You could experiment dissolving it in warm water and then cooling this!

Is the creatine you are buying plain mono or creapure or micronised creapure?

Yeah I should add that I didn't find myprotein's creapure very soluble but their plain old creatine mono was grand.

I'll probably have to just dump my monohydrate in with my tea (Decaf). I'm fairly sure I remember it making it taste a bit off but if it helps I might get used to it.

you could do that or just put it in a mug with a mouthful of water swish it around and knock it back, add a small bit more water and get the reminants.
Then enjoy your tea as normal
