Anyone noticed the difference in Odlums porridge recently?

It seems that as well as changing the packaging, they've also changed the product. It's now much more finely cut, which makes the texture and taste very different. Basically, it's a completely new product.

Anyone else noticed this? And if you have, any recommendations for a replacement porridge that is not manufactured for babies with no teeth?

Flahavans Organic Jumbo Oats - real Irish oats, nice and thick. Great with yoghurt and fresh fruit.

I am hoping there is something wrong with the oat harvest this year.
Flavahans has turned to chewy oat dust too.

I only ever eat jumbo oats - there's so much more to them. Much nicer in texture.

Perhaps you're right. Have just opened a new packet of Tesco's Jumbo Organic Oats, which I usually really like, but they're definitely more powdery than usual. May as well have just bought the non-jumbo kind. Tastes just like them :(

Reply below from Odlums. Looks like it's a permanent change. I guess if it ain't broke, it still needs fixing.
As with our flour, it is always our priority to produce the best quality products and we continually conduct taste tests to ensure that this standard is maintained.

To this end, we have recently made changes to both the taste and texture of our oats. Following this, we asked a panel of our consumers for their opinion on the revised oats and we found that they preferred the improved product. We do apologise that the new oats are not up to your usual consistency and flavour and hope that it doesn’t discourage you from buying Odlums porridge oats in the future.

We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention as it allows us maintain high standards in our range of products...

Ha! I noticed this last week and was wondering if I had just lost my mind. Seems to be much runnier and I'll be buying something else for my morning fuel as a result.

    Damn you Odlum's.
