    a title fight?

The only and only advice I can give you that your coach is your best friend

    Sorry

    Ask your coach.

Simple as that really. He/she will be in a much better position to advise you than any stranger here. They have no doubt been in a position similar to yours several times where they needed to drop weight for a comp.

If they can't help you, you're in the wrong gym.

If the OP's main training is in a 'class' I'm not sure they have a coach in the traditional sense of the word!

I am in a similiar situation but I have 4 months to go. You need to count calories but you need to eat super nutritious and energetic foods so your diet will be what sorts you out. If you are already lean 8kg in 9 weeks sounds drastic, if you have a bit of fat then it could be do-able... but maybe your goal shold be to hit peak performance primarily?

I've ramped up my training and am eating more calories per day (albeit a better diet) and I have lost 8kg's in the last 7weeks so its not impossible.

I eat about 2 or 3% refined foods now. All natural and all whole.

Edit: looking at the other posts... you are the coach right?

As said before ask your coach. If all else fails take a trip over to the boxing or mma or SD/MA forum or "insert name the appropriate" forum & ask there!
