There are two companies that use that acronym.
The Irish one is, in my opinion, a rip off scam designed to sound like the genuine British counterpart.
There is a company set up which has a list of educational providers and they are all accredtied by the 'DLAC' which funnily enough has the same address as...wait for it, the list of educational providers.
    Whole thing is a scam.

Ive done ITEC Sports Massage course - I found it good, enjoyed it and certainly learned loads. The course I did was replaced this year by the sports injury course and this can only be a good thing, the previous version didnt cover injuries well enough nor did it REQUIRE us to work at actual events, which you really do need to do to gain the experience. I believe the new course has expanded considerabley to include these. You will need to already have your Anatomy and Physiology and holisitic massage done (which covers all the basics of massage) and you need to know all this stuff before you get into the sports specific stuff. Theres heaps of places do the ITEC accredited course in Ireland, (which has nothing to do with the Irish Training Education Centre as mentioned by a previous poster). ITEC are an international examination body specifically for therapists - including Beauty, Complimentary and Sports therapists, courses are facilitated by collages locally, prices for these can vary so do check around your area. By the way, to reassure you, the ITEC courses are recognised by the Irish Massage Therapists Association.
I found it tough enough, especially getting through all the case studies, but I juggled it with working part-time and being a fulltime mom to 3 little boys - I suppose if I could do it though, anyone can.
If you have any specific questions about it feel free to pm me.
    Hope that helps
