The link on the website www.tippfm.com to listen online is working for me.

They have a mobile no. on their website:

    http://www.tippfm.com/

    which says: Text : 083 311 33 11

I texted them days ago asking about the website outage but got no reply.
It's a pity they don't try to be a bit more customer friendly.

I too, live outside their reception area and depend on the website for Tipp obits.

    Thanks for that link, brightspark.

Still it's a pity TippFM doesn't keep it's followers updated.

Purchased 2 separate Internet Radio devices and cannot connect to Tipp FM on either of them. Anyone know why? Cannot connect using this website either; http://www.listenlive.eu/ireland.html

Has anyone seen the new site? It is horrendous all caps for news

I checked it out today. I don't see all caps for the news....maybe they've changed them.

I can't see much of an improvement overall though. How did it take all this time just to give the website a minor facelift. Maybe I'm being a bit hard on them but it all looks very amateurish to my eyes.

The obits for instance, are as poorly presented as before.

I had honestly expected a much more professionally done website after all this time.
I hope they dress it up a bit better than this. Clare FM and Limerick 95FM do a far better, more professional-looking job.

Did the old building on the Davis Rd flood? Saw a water leak inspector van parked outside yesterday and lads loading timbers into a van....

Totally agree. i was expecting something sensational after all this time. if you told me some 6th class kids put this together i would believe you. easily the most amateurish local radio station in Ireland, and, yes, ive been on the road and listened to them all. You will never get a reply to a complaint though. i rang one day to point out almost criminal misinformation on Tipp Today. i was treated contemptuously by whoever answered the phone.

they only broadcast the positive comments.

was it the muppet 'producer'who answered you. Ryan Tubridy is due to broadcast from Clonmel, they might go along and see him and maybe learn something

Just looking how the obits are presented:

    On March 14th:http://www.tippfm.com/news/detail/obituaries_for_wednesday_march_14th_2012

    On March 15th:http://www.tippfm.com/news/detail/obituaries_for_saturday_march_17th_2012

Names are typed in bold type which makes it easier to read today.

    On March 19th:
    http://www.tippfm.com/news/detail/obituaries_19.3.12

back to the other format. Surely someone could decide how these are to be presented as a matter of policy? In reality it seems that whoever types stuff from day to day can do it any old way they like- and no-one really cares or checks about presentation.

Now - here's how Clare FM does their obits: Professionally -

    http://clare.fm/obituaries

    and Limerick's 95 FM: http://www.live95fm.ie/obituaries/

Again, a smart, well laid out page, professionally presented. Come on TippFM,
you have to try harder, your new website is very badly laid out and amateurish. Gotta try harder.

    .
But still in capital letters in a fancy ish font. Totally inappropriate and amateur

Funny....those fonts are not showing on my computer as capitals....
they show up as lower case. Still poorly done though.

....and so many positive comments!! on and on and on it goes, all seemingly from the same people day after day... and the obsessive compulsive repeating of the bloody bingo numbers ....and the bloody jingles....and the spouting verbal diarhorea over the intros to all the songs.....and that female newsreader who cant read past a 4th class level (the day of the last budget referring, all day, to the minister for social protection as mr. burton/bruton, nobody corrected her)...the forced jollity on the morning show (i just know that guy is actually suicidal)... at least we dont have to listen to "where are you mac?" laughing uproariously at nothing at all (who fu**ing cares where he is?by the way, where did he go or has he laughed himself to death?)....and that girl on saturday night who has a pathological hatred of 80s music to the point where she meticulously picks out the most unpopular songs from an other wise excellent decade...you can say why dont you turn over, but its the only station that will tune in at work... and for operational reasons we have to have the radio on. fortunately my colleagues tolerate my regular outbursts. i dont mind the guy in the aftenoon. shay searson, is it? and the girl in the early evening is ok. satuday sport scene in the afternoon is good too.

I hear your pain..Tipp FM had some great presenter's when they started off. What happened to those, and what did happen to the co-presenter in the morning? The fella doing it now is pretty poor...and the guy in the afternoon, all he does it talk talk talk and talk. The current affairs lad in the morning seem's to know it all,if the guest's dont agree with him, they get cut off.Whatever the caller is talking about,it has happened to him,and we have to listen to him bladdering on about it.But it must be us few here that dont like it,because they always seem to do well, when the listener figure's come out.....

and same thing if you ring in and complain about him cutting the off

that is probable all the idiotsb that have to ring the radio to know if a shop is open - instead of ringing the shop

Diction on breakfast is terrible.I heard the Bertie File mentioned this morning.I wish I had the choice of switching:mad:..Oh..and the Noose at ten is on the way,and if you have a request you can call uz,which I hear most of all at lunch.I want to ring up and say "IT'S US,NOT UZ".

lads, are ye upset at the radio station itself or the design of the website?

    or both :-0

I doubt any of the dj's actually did the work of creating the web pages - as sure as i am that the web page designer doesnt read the "Noose at ten"

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,767 ✭✭✭Comhrá

It's the website........down for months for some sort of facelift, then back but to my mind no better than before - and somewhat amateurish in appearance - reminds me of a sort of effort a school class might do as a project.

The neighbouring counties' radio station websites are so much more professional-looking. :(

I mean, why am I looking at a multi-coloured giraffe on the home-page? Where does he fit in with Co. Tipperary?

As for the station itself, I can't pick it up very well where I live, so I rely on the site for local Tipp news and obits.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20 Beasty.

The djs should have told the lads what build it that Giraffes have been extinct in tipp for years!

just messin but i see what u mean ; it should be local to County Tipp, and should reflect this.
