Suitable PC Speakers to use for practice

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent set of PC speakers that would give a decent volume and sound for use when practicing guitar. I'm using Riffmaster Pro on my laptop which has cr*p speakers and the Trust speakers I bought are just as bad. It's like someone trying to stab a skewer in your ear when they are turned up high. I don't need studio monitor quality, just something that will give a decent sound and reasonable volume.
