Calisthenics for beginners?

    Hi all,

As someone who sits all day at work and does not have time to hit a gym due to long commute times the idea of calisthenics appeals to me to both improve my fitness and get some much required movement into my joints and muscles.

I have been researching Calisthenics and it seems I can do the majority of the exercises bar dips and pull ups from the comfort (and dignity) of my own home.

Currently I am 25, 6.1 and weight about 18.5 stone. I would like to go about this in a safe manner were I can build from a solid base and hopefully make it a routine performed on alternating days.

What I can't figure out however is what exericses I should start with and how many reps, sets (time) I should start off doing.

Has anyone any experience with Callisthenics that could point me in the right direction?

I pretty much only do calisthenics these days. Get yourself a copy of convict conditioning. Good place to start.

    Bought it today!

Amazing book, I like the fact that the author starts at the most basic level and focuses on technique, great find, thanks!

You can download convict conditioning free on pdf if you do a bit of searching.
Also check out the (al kavadlo) channel on youtube, some good vids there

Can you send me on some info if you have it on calisthenics. Thanks a million. The only time I have for exercise is between 6.00am and 6.30am due to long hours in job and babies etc. I've been doing 20 min workouts 4 mornings a week but I'm not too confident in my technique,

    Thanks
