You've got enough videos there anyway ha.

Here's a few off the top of my head. All pretty different.

EDIT: I managed to forget my favourite tune of 2011.

Since you must have listened to every single one of those tracks numerous times to come to such a conclusion, please explain why everyone of them is '****' in detail so I can retort.

    Thank you.

Chuuwee is nice alright, doesn't seem to be a lot of hype around him considering just how good his flow is.

Could you guys type out the artist and song for the videos when you're posting? Doesn't show up in many of the videos, so I've no idea who they are!

I agree with hugh tbh but i hate the likes of big sean and drake.
Most of the stuff being mentioned is just a bit too new and underground for me.

I mainly listen to 90s stuff so this stuff doesn't appeal to me that's what i mean
by it being too new for me.

So why would you bother posting on this thread then? You're missing out on some sensational music by limiting yourself to just '90s music.

Why do you think I'm in this thread??
To check out new songs and try to find new artists that appeal to me but there has been very few in recent years.

11 years of music not to mention all the good stuff before the 90's.

I'm quite aware of that and i obviously listen to music from outside the 90s it's just the main era of music i listen to as it's my favourite.
You'd swear it's a sin to not be into modern hip hop as much as the old stuff the way you lads are going on.

No, of course not. But this is bringing the thread off topic.

Also there is plenty of good music in 2011 do not let drake, wayne, big sean, kreashawn, jay sean? or whoever taint your view of current music.

There was trash in the 80s,90's and now, granted there was more trash in the 90s and then even more in the 2000s but there is still good music all throughout.

In fairness, your post history kind of speaks for itself. You show little to no interest in any artist that is making music today and always bring up how good rap was in the 90's and how extremely bad it is today.

Yeah, rap was at it's peak in the 90's but things change. I don't like The Game or Drake as much as I like 2pac and Nas but that won't stop me listening to their new stuff, it mightn't be as good or as ground breaking but I don't really compare them to be honest.

If you keep comparing every new, up and coming artist to Tupac, Biggie, (or whoever you consider to be great). then you'll never be satisfied with any of their music because you're instantly comparing them to the all-time greats and that's a pretty miserable attitude to have IMO.

It's like comparing The Coronas to The Beatles.

To say i show little to no interest in new artists is a complete lie.
I give any artist making music today a bit of a listen and then if i don't like them i won't bother with them, simple as.

Anyway, The Cool Kids finally dropped their debut album. This is my favourite off it. Not bad to have Ghostface on your first album.

Well one of the other posters here asked you recently if you liked any artists making music today - you told them you liked Common. Out of every artist mentioned in this thread, Common is the only one that you have listened to and liked what you've heard?

Yeah common is probably the only person making music this year that I've really liked, as I've said before I'm not as into new music as the rest of you lads and i don't need to be.
I listen to what i listen to and you listen to what you listen to it's simple as that.
You might not like that i don't listen to the likes of drake, wayne and all them lads but I simply don't like listening to them.
I'm not getting into a debate about why i don't listen to the people you think i should listen to so you should just drop it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,246 ✭✭✭conor.hogan.2

As said before there is more than drake and others, harder to find though.

I'm not telling you to listen to anyone

Just pointing out that anytime you do post it's usually to say that the artist is ****, you don't like the album, it doesn't compare to anything from the 90's, etc. ...just constant negativity, almost every new thread on a current/up and coming artist usually contains 1 or more posts from you with nothing but bad things to say...all the negativity gets boring after a while and just doesn't really make sense why you continue to post in all these threads because you keep saying yourself that you think the music/artists are awful.

    Are you a mod?
You can't tell me there's no sense in me posting somewhere, I'm allowed post what i want it's freedom of speech.
If one of the mods has a problem with me posting negative stuff I stop If the mods don't want me posting here i won't but until one of them says I should stop posting here there is nothing that can stop me.

And I'm going to put it simply for you I don't listen to all the new stuff coming out today because there is 20 years of good rap for me to listen to and I repeat for the fourth time i don't need to listen to new stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,416 ✭✭✭Jimmy Iovine

Here's another track that I thought was pretty good. Cham lost a bet on Twitter about the Superbowl and he had to release this. He wrote it before and said the Steelers would win, which they didn't.

This was my favourite track from Game's album.
