Arsenal; Fabianski - Djourou, Squillaci, Koscielny, Miquel - Frimpong ,Coquelin, Benayoun - Oxlade-Chamberlain, Park ,Chamakh

Man City; Pantilimon - Onuoha, Savic, K. Toure, Zabaleta - de Jong, Hargreaves - Johnson, Nasri, Kolarov - Dzeko.

    Live on SS1.

Thought Wenger would put out a slightly stronger side than that, could be a long night for Arsenal.

Teams look evenly enough matched to me. Should be a good game.

Think the City team looks much stronger, surprised by the Arsenal line up since it is one of their two best chances at silver ware this year.

Fabianski, Djourou, Squillaci, Koscielny, Miquel, Frimpong, Coquelin, Benayoun, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Park, Chamakh.

Is the Arsenal team by all accounts.

There's no players of the calibre of de Jong, Johnson, Nasri and Dzeko in that Arsenal team. You can add Hargreaves to that list if he doesn't break.

Hopefully the home advantage for Arsenal evens it up and we get a good game.

    Squillachi.....

    ....ugh.

    That is all.

Didn't Onouha get sent off in the first five minutes against us last year?

There's winning the Lager Cup for the sake of winning it too.

We tried that last year and when it didn't come off we had relegation form until about 2 months or so ago.

    No thank you.

Don't really get the Nasri hate - it was our own fault; we let him run down his contract to the point where he forced our hand. I personally don't blame him for leaving; City offered him megadollars and a probable better chance of success given there was shag all signs of investment in the team up to the point he left.

Obviously he'll have to come to terms with not being a guaranteed starter from now on, plus by and large he's been average since he joined [and indeed since the turn of the New Year in 2011]. I think we got a good deal getting ~£25m for him.

Hargreaves has hardly played in 4 years, Kolo Toure a year, Onouha last season, goalie untested. That City backline is vulnerable. Arsenals backline is last years backline, more or less. They have experience playing together whereas City dont. City's midfield/forwards are a better bunch no doubt but this is far from a formality. Could go to penos.

Hargreaves has played twice for City(1 sub appearance) and has played very well on both occasions. He's obviously a risk though.

Agree with the rest, although I think the Arsenal backline is just as dodgy as City's, with the inclusion of Squillaci.

Strong City team, should be too powerful for Arsenal.

Great ball across the box there. Unlucky for Park!

That was a fantastic ball. So unlucky from Park.

    Should of scored, some save.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,501 ✭✭✭Fuzzy_Dunlop

So close there from Park. He shoulda gone properly with his left.

Good start from Arsenal so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,571 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Someone needs to tell Miquel to show Johnson down the line and stop letting him cut in onto his left.

Chamakh is looking sharper than he has been of late.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

Did Chamakh just do something exciting? :p

Nedum's alive  Had to look three or four times to make sure it was him!

Such a shame that he wanted to stay in the north-west really. He could play week in week out at mid/bottom half Premier League side. He'll surely move to Bolton/Blackburn in the January window, even if it's just a loan.

Quality play from Ox so far! Completely showing up Nasri.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

Great play from Dzeko there. Held his man off and found Johnson with a stunning pass.

Lol at Nasri trying to go off!

    Also, **** Aguero is on.

  • Administrators, Computer Games Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,529 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Mickeroo

Arsenal obviously doing something right if Aguero is on already.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,501 ✭✭✭Fuzzy_Dunlop

Haha Nasri has had enough obviously.

Strange to see Aguero so early, doesn't really bode well for Arsenal.

Mancini is a bit of a lunatic
