Gym -v- DIY job...

    Hello,

Just looking for some opinions - I'm a member of local gym, I was going about 4-5, sometimes 6 times a week, mainly doing classes such as Spin, body pump and aerobics - mainly cardio. Finding myself not going so much at the moment, working late etc, but I'd quite happily go out running myself in the evenings - would prefer the wind rain in my face than a sweaty studio!

Suppose what I'm asking is would running, push ups and sit ups, squats etc be enough to keep up a level of fitness? I know I'll need to push myself to do it, but I presume it's possible to get the same level of workout without a gym? Guess I'm just reassessing whether it's worth my while paying for a gym I don't really get the benefit of anymore. Any opinions would be great! Thanks!

You answered your own question, it depends on the intensity you put in! Burpees, lots of burpees!!!! See the
Metcon threadfor ideas. You need equipment for some of them but there should be more then enough there to get you started!

Yeah you're right, suppose I have answered it. Just don't want to jack it in, then realise it wasn't the smartest move. Guess I can always rejoin with the everyone else in January! :D

I been working out from home for the last couple of years. The only problem is keeping up the intensity without a training partner. I really think that's been holding me back a little.
I'm no expert but i would suggest getting a pull up bar and kettlebell.
