Crooked Spine - Big Deal or Not?

So I noticed my girlfriends spine bends to the left at the lower back area. It starts straight and runs straight down to the middle of her back then curves to the left (by an inch or so) and curves back to then center just at the base. She sometimes complains about her back like sometimes it can be sore but nothing serious at all, sometimes she will have to lie on the ground to let it her back crack etc and I'm wondering if her minor back issues might be related to her curve.

Just wondering if this bend is normal, like its not scoliosis severe, the bend I'm taking about is like an inch to the left and then curves back. Just wondering if this is a common thing or should she get it looked at because as it stands she is fine, she complains about her back like most normal people, so simply based on her condition she dosent need to get anything checked, shes fine, just wonderin if the curve is normal?

If its a concern, get it checked?

Theres different degrees of scoliosis too like. Has she ever got it looked at before? What was the prognosis if so?

Shouldn't be a big matter but she should definitely get it seen to. It might be a simple extra sole fitted to a shoe to solve the problem.

Ya she went to the physio a few months back cause her lower back was sore when she ran, physio said she was leaning to one side so told her to wear 2 heal supports in one shoe when she goes for runs, she's grand now but to be honest, for the amount she actually wore the supports I dont really think they did anythin for her, think her back just got better cause she rested for a good while, as for the curve in spine, only noticed that last week

think i'll suggest she have it looked at anyway simply cause it dosent seem right to me

This sh*t really grinds my gears. You're saying the physio made no attempt to diagnose the problem or fix it, and effectively just put a plaster over it? Shocking behavior.

Jesus, that's awful advice! Was she born with it or is this something recent? Why didn't the physio try to address the imbalance as opposed to offering a temporary solution? This gets me so annoyed! I'd go see a different practitioner. If it was me I'd be off to see a decent Osteopath but if it's not a physio on this forum you tend to get shot down because everything else is quackery ;)

Well the bend in her spine is something I only noticed last week, she never even knew about it herself, not sure if it contributed to her pain but think she should get it checked.

The physio would only have spotted the bend if she was looking for it I assume. But ya, regardless I thought the physios answer to her back pain seemed a little crap alright. She's OK now but from time to time it acts up.

So if concerned about the bend do ya think she should go to doc or physio or someone else?
