Could think of a heck of a lot worse places.

At the moment there is no place I'd rather be this Christmas and New Year.

Bit of a different Christmas day planned this year, going out for dinner, should be interesting as we have never done it before. Might leave opening the presents off til after since the dinner is booked for early and there will be no kids around this year. Remainder of the day will be spent eating ham sandwiches and drinking.

yes its overused to the point of nausea....yes I'm completely immature but I still giggled when I read it

+he said shindig in a vagina...thats funny in my book (the book of someone with the mental age of a 14 year old boy who steadfastly refuses to grow up admittedly)

+I could almost see the hoe-down/line dancing competition that was going on in there!

    :o

At home relaxing with Hubby and pooch. Haven't been back since we emigrated four years ago, too much hassle travelling with weather etc. Sometimes we go to a friend's house but this year we'll have a quiet one.

We'll drive to the UK a week before to do a big shop in Tesco so we'll have all the luxuries tho, and to see friends and have a mock Christmas dinner :D.

Maybe we'll go home next year but I doubt it.

This is pretty much the annual buzz for me:
    1. Christmas Eve - Big piss up to welcome everyone back home.
    2. Christmas Day - Eat like a king and pan out to the annual viewing of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (The real one with Gene Wilder, that is :pac:)
    3. Stephen's Day - Mother of all piss-ups
    4. Ensuing days - Curl up in the corner, hiding from light, vowing never to touch drink again
    5. New Year's Eve - Emerge out into society once again for another piss-up, get free kisses off women
    6. Ensuing days - Curl up in the corner, hiding from light, vowing never to touch drink again

Will be my 1st Xmas without my dog, though. Will be a bit strange not having her around bugging me for some turkey.

Cooking for 24 people as my sons, siblings, their partners, 3 cousins and their partners & kids, 2 aunts, 1 uncle and my sisters future parents-in-law all descend on my parents house where my ma and I will be required to feed them all.

Tis great craic though and when more arrive later in the evening we could end up with 25 to 30 people spending the night, joining in the sing song and game playing til the early hours of the morning.

My favourite day of the year.

    Bliss.

I'll be sitting out on the back deck of the house with my house mates and a few christmas orphans.
Dinner will be a combination of steak, sausages, burgers, prawns, veggies and all will be consumed in the expected sunshine :D
