    kesxs0.jpg

Live on Setanta Ireland at 3pm.

    Team News;

Manchester United top scorer Wayne Rooney is set to return after missing the Champions League draw with Benfica because of a hip injury.

Midfielder Anderson has been ruled out until February with a knee injury.

Newcastle are expecting both Chieck Tiote (knee) and Leon Best (groin) to return to action.

Winger Gabriel Obertan hopes to face his former club, having overcome the injury that ruled him out of the defeat at Manchester City.

    Predicted line ups;

    Lindegaard
    Smalling
    Evans
    Vidic
    Evra
    Park
    Fletcher---Giggs
    Young
    Rooney

    Hernandez

    Ba

    Ben Arfa
    Jonas
    Cabaye----Guthrie
    Obertan
    Taylor
    Coloccini---Taylor
    Simpson
    Krul

Think their could be a few changes for United. Don't think we'l play Ferdinand three times in a week. Nani will probably be on the bench as he's played a lot of games recently, same with Jones. Lindegaard also due a game.

Strong rumours going around that Collocini is injured for this game, can anyone confirm or deny this?

Also, has Pardew actually confirmed that Tiote will miss out?

    COME ON THE TOON.

Think DDG has been well and truly established as the No.1, so even though Lindegaard has defo impressed, I think the logical choice is de Gea...

    Mind you.......... :D

Will Rooney be playing in midfield today?

He'll play further forward I'd imagine. Unless Welbeck starts with Hernandez.

Rooney has a very good record against Newcastle btw.

Ya he said it in the press conference. He said Danny Guthrie wasn't 100% either but could well still play.

Newcastle should win the midfield battle but I'd say utd should have enough in attack.

    2-1 utd

"We're gonna win fúck all again, we're gonna win fúck all, but we still follow United."

    HOWAY THE LADS.

Absolutely nothing to lose so hopefully we get right in their faces.

Ben Arfa to score anytime. ;) UP AND HATEM!!!!

Wouldn't be surprised to see Rooney in the middle with Berba and Chico up top.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,645 ✭✭✭Luap

I was thinking Rooney CM, Giggs out left and Young behind Herandez.

Why would he do that ? Giggs can play in cm no bother young is better on left and Rooney is best right in the hole behind chico

#MUFC De Gea, Fabio, Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, Nani, Young, Giggs, Carrick, Hernandez, Rooney

NUFC XI vs #mufc : Krul, #Simpson, S Taylor, Coloccini, R Taylor, #Obertan, Cabaye, Guthrie, Jonas, Ben Arfa, Demba Ba

Can't wait for this, nothing for us to lose as mentioned already.

Really looking forward to seeing Ben Arfa's movement behind Ba, and Cabaye's & Guthrie's efforts at supplying Ba.

    HOWAY THE LADS!

He's usually very good beside Carrick. The two compliment each other very well.

not great options on the bench for United imo

Lindegaard, Evans, Smalling, Park, Valencia, Macheda, Gibson.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 32,865 ✭✭✭✭MagicMarker

No Jones on the bench, I hope that's just to rest him.

Macheda is a surprise too, has he been injured? Haven't heard anything of him recently.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,890 ✭✭✭✭Nalz

Must be surely. No Berba too. Danny still injured?

This has a draw written all over it :-pessimistic

Unless a Gibbo piledriver wins it for us!!!

im often critical of tv punditry in general but they are hitting the nail on the head here with evra just not closing down crosses. he's so half assed a lot of the time its infuriating.
