    Hi Folks,

I'm thinking of joining a ladies rugby team, even though i'm a bit scared of it to be honest, anyway they're having a fitness test next week and all i've been told is to come togged with a bottle of water, does anyone know what this test might entail? All thoughts welcomed!

Possibly a shuttle run/150 test, or more likely a beep test.

You should mesage a poster called gymfreak on here. She just started playing ladies rugby recently with no background or exp in the sport

I went to my first session ever with a ladies team during the week - go for it! I was terrified too, but they were all so friendly and inclusive ...and I did sit out of all the *really* rough stuff. It was a real learning experience, not what I expected at all tbh. Anyway what's the worst that can happen :)

Bring PLENTY of layers, that was my big mistake, I think I nearly died of hypothermia!

I only started ladies rugby last year and in my second season i can definitely recommend it!
Whenever we have had fitness test in rugby it consists of a beep test.

Where did you sign up in the end?

St. Marys - but haven't signed up yet. I think they have plans to start up a development team soon so might wait and give that a go rather than trying to slot into their regular (quite experienced!) team :)
