Well as expected Joe had to make some changes and rest some of the Irish lads.
Must say I am a little surprised to see Luke as 15, I hope this does not backfire, last time he was playing there he did not have a good time and his confidence took a hit.

Its a lot different playing him against Benneton Treviso in a Rabo game than Kidney starting him against Italy in the 6N's in one of his first games back. Would be good to see him do well.

Is EOM preferred at 13 ahead of Fergus?

He's getting another chance. If he plays like he did in September/October I think he could lose his place again, but if he plays like he did last weekend then hopefully he can nail down the spot for the season.

McFadden should be much brighter on the wing imo.

Bit disappointed not to see Luke at 12. Seems like the experiment during the world cup was just expedience really.

Otherwise a team capable of winning out there.

Maybe. Or maybe Schmidt wanted to surround Madigan with highly experienced players in Raddan and Darcy for a tough away match. Clearly Fitzgerald is also experienced, but less so than Darcy at 12.

Yeah interesting call on Fitzgerald at 15. Hope it works. He's looked great under high ball at times recently. In fairness to him he wasn't playing well at all in any position during the 6n period.

FYI 15:00 is local time, so 14:00 Irish time.

Also with Isa being rested it will be interesting to see if Madigan or McFadden take the kicks.

Actually never thought about that! McFadden did a decent job the last time he had kicking duties, so I'd be happy enough to see him do it again.

There's coverage of the game on RTE2.

First Leinster game to be televised by RTE so far?

    Send your complaints to complaints@rte.ie

    Really disgraceful effort at bidding.

Sinnotts to the side of Stephens Green usually shows games. They have 7 screens show if they aren't planning on showing it they will probably show it on one if you ask.

Yup, The Porterhouse on Nassau St usually does and I know it's a little further down but O'Donoghues on Merrion Row is great for a match

Think tg4 will show highlights after or before the Connacht game, could be mistaken though

anyone know if Against the Head will ever be revived on rte? Used to be the one time rte bothered to hire Gerry Thornley for rugby analysis

You're right I had them the wrong way around! Sorry.

Anyway I've been roped into going to the chelsea - wolves game, so updates on here would be much appreciated. Don't think there will be many leinster fans in the shed end!

    29s more like!
Full back didn't look too interested in attempting a tackle!

Carr try! Some great move by Leinster. Brilliant start

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Great try, scored by Carr.

Madigan's crisp pass to O'Malley was key to it. Terrible defence though, Treviso are at sea.

    Making it look easy.

So much for my 7/4 bet on Treviso!

Another ridiculously easy try for Carr. Nice pass from Fitzy though.

Sa Nacewa became a dad again during the week according to RTÉ. Maybe he wasn't picked because he's on paternity leave.

Madigan needs to get himself the kicking duties if he ever wants to wear the irish 10 jersey

Madigan is looking like a real prospect alright. He'll get plenty of gametime too which will help his development.

    Botes penalty, 6-14.

    Good game so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Leinster pushing up out wide in defence, Treviso don't look comfortable forcing it.

    9-14 now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,407 ✭✭✭✭justsomebloke

Another penalty given away by Leinster 9-14 leinster

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Treviso coming back into it now. Another penalty to bring it to 9-14. Leinster need to watch the infringing. Ruddock did well during that passage though. He prevented an offload in the tackle when they had numbers. There was a try on there for certain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭durkadurka
