    Local Baltimore advertising is plugging
CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio
    and
    Triple H vs. Kevin Nash
for the 12/18 WWE TLC pay-per-view, the final WWE PPV of the year.

Could probably assume we'll get Henry/Show 3 in a Chairs match as well

Isnt Del Rio getting his rematch next week on Raw?

I think Cena and Miz will be back in title picture again also

They could go Cena-Miz in a ladder match, winner gets a contract to face the WWE Champ at Royal Rumble, I suspect next weeks match may have a screwy finish to it.

I hope they switch it up a little, I don't need to see Mizark v Big Slow and Del Rio v Punk for the millionth time anytime soon, no matter what the stip:(

Punk and Del Rio had one singles PPV match.

Is this on Sky Sports or Box Office if I didn't get Survivor Series I haven't got a notion of ordering this.

Hopefully they can keep on a bit of a roll from SS, and that Show v Henry isn't on again..

    And about 245 Raw matches:o

I saw an ad on Sky earlier and its Otunga advertising the show, explaining the uses of chairs.

Otunga has been tasked with drawing buys from casual viewers via an advert :S

Really? That's just bizarre, and not just cause I don't like Otunga.

Where is the bow tie he needs to wear it all the time :p does this mean a push for him or at least a match at the ppv perhaps?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

I'm surprised he hasn't had a singles push before now considering he's married to Jennifer Hudson who is pretty much main event level in the US music and/or actress scene, and we all know how much Vince has a stiffy for main stream celebrities.

The "locker room lawyer" angle he has going on at the moment isn't that bad a use of him considering his actual Harvard degree. His lack of pretty much any actual wrestling ability is a bit of a hindrance mind you.

I take it this is one of the PPV's that WWE just decided "meh not important" ahead of time on?

I read earlier that Triple H is suffering with his neck and may need another knee surgery. If thats true, he wont be the best in a ladder match and Kevin Nash can hardly walk to begin with. I can see the ladder not even being climbed in that one. I remember a few years ago Austin against someone and the title would raise up whenever Austin went for it and lower for his opponent (may have even been Triple H). I wouldnt be surprised to see that happen in favour of Nash so he doesnt have to use the ladder for more than two or three steps in order to win.

I text my brother this earlier and he thought I said the winner gets to batter the loser of the match without them fighting back. If only that could mean HHH would take Nash off tv for a long, long time. I presume that Nash will be put in the HOF next year and then f**k off

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Music Moderators, Regional Midlands Moderators Posts: 24,137 Mod ✭✭✭✭Angron

I figured that's kinda how it'd work anyway, so hopefully Nash will be off for a good long time.

I wonder where Cena will feature if at all, a match with Swagger or maybe in Ryder's corner for his match or special ref or if the ppv is selling slow he might be added back into the WWE title match

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,604 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

    Ladder match means no DQ.

Why not just bring a sledgehammer to the ring in your hand.

During last night's WWE Smackdown taping, the following matches were announced for WWE's TLC PPV:
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Booker T for the Intercontinental Title

Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett in a Tables Match

I hate when wwe add in elements into matches that mean nothing whatsoever in the outcome of the match.

Like in a cage match you escape (traditionaly) and if you escape, you win.
Why make match types that seem to have no meaning in the winner of the match?!
I know some may argue that the user of the sledge can rip into the other person, but remember a few years ago (It could have been kane ) had the same kind of match, got the item off the rope but then just got powerbombed or something and the item wasnt even used?

I wish it was Ziggler vs Ryder in a ladder match. The symbolism of Ryder climbing the ladder to win the US title would have been huge.

It still could be. It would be the only title Ladder titlematch on the card?

That would have been a great way to elevate the title, both guys and would do ziggler no harm if he lost.

    Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

    – There is talk that WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler may be added to the Triple Threat TLC Match for the WWE Title at WWE’s TLC pay-per-view with CM Punk, The Miz and Alberto Del Rio.

This would continue Dolph’s recent trend of working two matches on WWE pay-per-view events.

This makes me think that Ziggler is gonna win the Rumble. I think that's what the idea behind all his double-duty at PPV's. He could have a US Title match at RR (either defending it or contending for it). Then he could enter the Rumble near the end, and winning it - adding to his whole "I'm unstoppable thing" he has goin on.

"I'm unstoppable..except that I keep losing"..They keep saying Sheamus is "almost unstoppable" I'm still leaning towards him as they must have something in mind to cap off this big push. Ziggler is a big contender but I don't think they're going to push him that high just yet.

There has been talk of making John Cena the special referee for the United States Title Match between Dolph Ziggler and Zack Ryder according to F4Wonline.com. A stipulation may be in place for that match to where Cena gets added to the WWE Title main event against CM Punk, The Miz and Alberto Del Rio, making it a four-way.

When is the last time that Cena missed a PPV for any reason other than injury?

I was thinking the same today. Maybe he will be added somewhere but its really odd that he isn't advertised to be on the show. If he was in the TLC match I would have bough the PPV is he always delivers an excellant TLC match. Not sure what to expect from Del Rio and Miz.

Del Rio has been involved in 2 excellent ladder/MITB matches this year. The Christian WHC Ladder match was one of the best this year. The Miz has also featured heavily in MITB matches. I am actually looking forward to the triple threat match. All have a history of good ladder matches and Punk always delivers in the ring.

I don't have a problem with either of them in the match or that they can perform in a ladder match.

But I find the triple threat part a bit confusing, I don't like spots for the sake of them. I like it when a face and heel with history are doing bad things to each other as they have a history. The best TLC matches had this. Del Rio and Miz are both heels with no back story of dislike between them. So when they have a spot during this match it won't mean much.

Del Rio has been involved in 2 excellent ladder/MITB matches this year.

The problem there, though, is who you give credit to for how good those matches were. Christian is great in ladder matches and has proven that time and time again. It could be argued he carried Del Rio. Likewise, I'd never judge on the MITB matches; theres so many people in them, it's hard to tell who really is good and who is being carried. And there was the Fatal 4 Way TLC match from last year as well, which also had Edge and Rey (and....I can't remember who person 4 was...).

Not to say Del Rio won't do well or Punk can't carry him to a great match as well. Just that it's hard to judge Del Rio's ladder match abilities given the ones he's been involved in.

One of my favourite conspiracy theories about this show you know taking Cena off, Nash vs HHH in a ladder match is that WWE what's this tank to prove PPVs are a dying business ahead of the move to WWE Network.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,473 ✭✭✭✭Super-Rush

I can see Cena being guest referee for the Ziggler v Ryder match, costing Ryder the match by accident, which will push the heel turn forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 236 ✭✭Dercola

Any chance that the reason Cena isn't involved in TLC, is because the WWE are trying to protect him?? I mean, what is it. 3-4 months to Wrestlemania and one of the biggest main events in the last decade?

I can see Cena being used sparingly between now and mania, and not being involved in too many "high risk" matches. Elimination Chamber aside of course :o

Thats just my 2 cents worth :p

If cena is the ref how can he cost ryder the match by accident?
Accidentally make the 3 count mistaking ziggler for ryder? :p

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,955 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

I hope he isnt added to the main event simply as him giving up his shot so that ryder could get one here could feul a turn down the line with him taking frustration out on Ryder. I still dont see him going into mania in Miami vs The Rock as the full face he is now (atleast character wise, cos hes not reaction etc wise anywhoo).

More Cena turning heel chat. Why did Kane come back the last nite and lay him out if not to start a feud. I'd hope they could find a better face than Ryder to do the turn.

Wwe are selling Cena Sucks t-shirts now though.
