Whilst in France last week it was brought to my attention a lot of Muslim`s were eating McDonald`s burgers. I just asked one of them and they told me all the Meat is slaughtered in the Halal way.Well a lot of Muslim`s over there I guess. My Question is,What is the situation here within Ireland in the way Irish McDonald`s burger`s are Manufactured?

Hahahahahaha. Gull-i-calf! Yeah sure the meat is "halal" pffffffffffffffft.

I hear they use a pork sword to slaughter animals in France.

The cows are reared well - free range & fed really decent food.

They are then slaughtered humanely then processed into the most godawful shite you can stick between two pieces of bread.

But not before some spotty fat gimp spits onto it & sticks a gherkin over the snot.

I'd be surprised if their meat is halal anywhere let alone here. They can't even be bothered cooking their chips in vegetable oil so if you're a veggie you probably shouldn't even be eating them.

It's all about the mechanism and thru-put for them. They don't exactly care about making a flexible menu to suit all sorts.

Yes they do. They have kiddies meals for kiddies, eurosaver menus for the poor & extra large meals for fat people.

They even do breakfast wraps now for businessmen on the go.

There's meat in McDonald's burgers? Learn something new every day.

The great thing about McD's is the wonderful choice they offer you.

i.e. if you don't like it GTFO and go somewhere else.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,635 ✭✭✭eth0

The "meat" you get in McDonalds isn't actual meat so its nothing to worry about, meat would be far too dear for McDonalds to put on every burger.

They do manage fit all the health risks associated with poor quality meat in this substance they use instead and does contain waste animal parts so not vegetarian or healthy.

I think if McD's made the effort to provide Halal I just think they would advertise it if it was available here like smaller takeaways do.

But also... most people I know who are religious do not stick to the rules especially younger folk, my first experience with this of course if Catholics here, then I heard about Mormon teachings and thought they don't drink or get tattoo's or divorced but they do (might be wrong not too familiar with their rules but that's what I got), and Muslim friends here studying so do bend the rules.

Maybe some religious followers feel more comfortable breaking dietary laws.. I mean hey gluttony is meant to be a deadly sin I wonder how many Christians break that on a daily basis.
    not a big deal really

Poor, Fat, Kiddies. Collectively known as the McDonalds triad.

It's 2 years old but Metro Eireann did a piece about it here - apparently none of the fast food chains in Ireland offer halal meat yet.Interestingly the requirements for certifying meat as halal are almost identical to those for certifying meat as kosher - but you can't mix dairy and meat under kosher so it affects food preparation.Anyway,no McD's or Burger King, they're not missing much.

Dont forget that, that each slab of that shite could be made up from various bits of 600 of those animals.

Whilst on the topic of the make up of Burger`s,Whats`s in the Aul Batterburger?? Quite partial to one.

Most Muslims dont order burgers in McDs. I would have said (picks a BS figure out of the air that seems appropriate at the time) 80% go for a Fillt'O'Fish

Spawn of the Devil those fucking things.

I wouldn't advise anyone to eat a 'beef' burger from a chipper. Breast in a bun is about the only burger type thing I'd eat from a chipper.

Stick with chips and fish I reckon.

Jamie Oliver, where they mechanically strip every bit of chicken from the bone?

Although in fairness I stopped eating McDonalds long before this.

It was Pulp Fiction. Also over there a Big Mac is called a Le Big Mac. Amazing writing. Well worth the Oscar or whatever it was he won.

Apparently that's because they have the metric system - they wouldn't know what a quarter pounder was.

Because it's important to know what you eat. And to know if it's halal or not. I don't eat halal.

Nah I'd never accuse McDonalds of lying. I respect them too much.

Sorry. I meant to say that by whatever process involved it ends up that there is meat matter in the vegetable oil. I think it's some sort of beef extract/fat that's included. My veggie friends won't even eat the chips because it.

From what I can find (a lot relating to the uproar in America over it) it is/was only in america that that was done.

Well when my friends found out about this issue they asked the local branch (a Dublin branch) if they did this and the branch acknowledged that they did.
