Cheap access to a gym over Christmas/new year period?

    Hi,

    I'm living abroad, but coming home for three weeks over the Christmas period. Given this is the time of year I most need my gym access (all that good food and drink!), does anyone have recommendations for a cheap gym that would give me a short term/casual use membership in Dublin south or city centre? I am aware, of course, that most gyms will be closed over some of the christmas days, but if I could even get a couple of sessions in there it'd mean I wouldn't have to be starting up after a month's layoff in the new year!

    Many thanks,
    W.

    Raw on Richmond Street does day and week passes. Can't remember the price for them, used them before for a mate. Could be worth giving them a call.

    Save your money, hit some parks with pullup bars and such likes! Deer Park just off Fosters Avenue (Near "The Goat") in South Dublin has pullup bars, inverted row bars, even push up bars, couple of nice hills for sprints and a couple of football pitches for flat sprints! If you're still not content with that borrow a kettlebell off someone and throw some swings and the like into your workouts! Christmas is the best time of year for outdoor workout IMO, generally speaking yes the weather is cold but it does tend to be pretty dry more often than not*

    I always aim to stay in the same shape over Christmas or any holiday period by eating what I want and as much as I want and hit the workouts hard daily or every second day**

    *with the exception of the last 2 or 3:D

    **hangover dependant:pac::cool:
