    Hi all,

I think I may not be eating enough to gain proper muscle. The reason being I am not gaining as much muscle as I think I should be.

This is what I ate yesterday in full and my exercise regime ( yesterday was a bit odd in that I went for a late 5 mile walk but the rest is the norm. )
    • protein shake made with 1/2 water 1/2 coconut milk and some wheat bran and a banana .
    • snack : 2 scrambled eggs and a spoon full of fried mushrooms
    • prewo : bcaa in water
    • pwo : protein shake with water and creatine
    • steamed turkey breast approx 200 gsm raw and asparagus ( 1 cup raw )
    • brown scone :o with butter and jam
    • 200 gsm ground pork meat balls ( home made ) with raw spinach salad, walnuts, rocket, olive oil, parmessan and cider vinegar dressing.
    • apple and some wallnuts ( 4 ish full )
    • 200gsm steamed turkey breast and a shake with some wheat bran

I spent 1.5 hrs in the gym doing Built Like a Bad Ass session one.( that aint no walk in the park ! )
I cycled 8km ew to and from work
The other half and I fast walked 5 km round the block.

My issue is I was a fatty and I worked dam hard to lose it, and I am petrified of putting the flab back on, but I think I may be eating to little to build proper muscle. Any input ?

How long have you been eating/training like this? How much have you gained?

I don't know your weight but doesn't look like a lot. All fierce healthy and all though.

    Where's your carbs?!

Peanut butter, rice, pasta, beef and milk all the way.

I like the coconut milk thing. How's that taste?

I've put on about a stone in the last year eating normally Mon - Friday like this but a good bit of it is fat I think as I do go a bit nuts every once in a while for a weekend and I do have a few pints every weekend.

My issue is the muscle - I don't feel as if I have gained enough visible muscle.
I am wondering if I should be eating more ( of the same or something else )
I cannot eat pasta or bread as it bloats me terribly and I'm not keen on too much milk ( except in coffee ).
    I am 5ft 10 and about 14st.

btw yesterday was exceptional as I don't normally do the 5k walk, I just put it in to be totally honest.

coconut milk in the shake is superb ( not a regular thing either ), but it might become.

Looking back at your last year and putting on 1 stone in weight - it would appear you are in fact eating enough. If most of that weight is fat, I'd focus on the training side of the equation.

What were you doing for the last year, exercise-wise?

Think the best thing you can do is have your bf% measured properly, get out a measuring tape and start afresh once that's done.

At the moment you're only guessing how much of the weight youve added is muscle/fat.

Once you have your bf and measurements done you'll have something objective to work with.

Yeah - maybe you need to change your exercise program
