Passed the GPO yesterday.About a dozen muslim lads had a couple of tables set up outside the GPO seeking converts.Had a few banners with allah true god etc.
For some reason it really pissed me off,not sure why as it would'nt bother me if they were outside clerys, easons or even Dail Eireann.
Anywhere else other than the GPO.
    Maybe its just me.

They've been there a while. You might want to learn that ignorance is bliss. Especially when it comes to religion. (:pac:)

Also the Christians are usually there on the corner too. It's a free for all!

Why? The 1916 volounteers were hoping for a Republic with religious freedom

But sure why the 1916 rising was about the Irish people not their religion. Let them set up, they won't get any converts.

They could move further down to Eason but that's Hare Krishna turf and we don't need a gang war.

I'd rather see Muslims there than those pro-life people with their horrible posters.

I don't mind them at all. As has been said the dudes with the posters of aborted foetuses annoy me more.

Anywhere else other than the GPO.
    Maybe its just me.

The reconstruction of Sackville Street post office was almost a big mistake as the ill advised secession from the United Kingdom in the first place.

Ever since it has been regarded as a something as a shrine for every crank and crackpot to assemble and obstruct the footway as if those damn pillars didnt take up enough pavement space already.
    .
Usually such demonstrations merely present a nuisance and hazard to pedestrians but occasionally they actually succeed in attracting more than a dozen deluded followers and spill out into the roadway obstructing a major public transport route and seriously disrupting the bus timetable for large parts of the city. The police in the district rarely intervene probably because their hands are filled dealing with the large volumes of aggressive beggers in the vicinity.

The laughable thing about many of these assemblies of the deranged is that the majority of them are in pursuit of various (usually ill-founded and sometimes diametrically opposed) "causes" that bear absolutely no relationship whatsoever (other than the lack of foundation) to the granddaddy of them all.

In the short term any attempt to deal with the problem would appear to be a lost cause Fortunately there are credible scientific studies from well respected sources which suggest that most parts of the general district happen to lie above not very far above sea level and towards the end of the present century many climate models anticipate a permanent resolution of the issue.

That would make a good TV show.

Mussies blowing themselves up, HK chanting the mussies to death. The scientoligimps are like tapeworms, can't get rid of the cnuts once their in.

Pan over to moronic irish old school catholics coming from mass.
Assumpta "look at them gob****es Dymphna, them lot id belief nanyting"
Dymphna. tutting and noddin furiously ...."eejits"

They share the southside of it with the beggars from a certain Irish ethnic minority, other side of the tram tracks is divvied up between the Hare Krishna and the Roma.
I work on the street, it's kind of odd. You literally only see the Roma beggars on one side and the Irish ones on the other nine times out of ten.

I still don't get this selling point. You'd obviously want x number of experienced women instead of women looking confused and screaming in pain. :P

    .........

It's O'Connell Street. We did not 'secede' we reasserted our right to independence. And there was nothing "ill-advised" about it.

I think those virgins would be virgins for a reason, and should probably be described as spinsters.

I'm not surprised the nice muslim lads don't hold up posters with pictures of people being stoned to death in Saudia, or a nice picture of a man having his hands cut off, or maybe one with a woman being beaten to death for kissing another man!!!! See all this is perfectly legal in saudia arabia and across other Muslim states, still happens all the time in Muslim Pakistan and Indonesia. The jails of Qatar and Kuwait are full of men and women who "offended " allah, sad but very true. The next time any of those decent muslim lads ask you to convert, ask em bout the lovely goings on in most Islamic states around the world. Cheers.

But if it's a bunch of makalla makalla durka durka keel de eenfeedels extremists I might have to open up with a tommy gun.

    F*ckin' terrrists. *gun-click, tatatata....*

Really though? Let em have at it, I welcome them. A sign of a free & just society that they can do it.

    Saw them yesterday too.
That wasnt the funny bit :pac: It was the fact they were right by the end of the GPO (around the corner from abbey street side) And directly around the corner was some catholic nut standing on a chair with a mega-phone. :pac:

you think they'd both pick places more than 20 foot away from each other :pac:
All we need are some other religious nut jobs by the spike and we're set.
