    Ideally you could find a nice set of used plates somewhere(easy to refurb them if they are rusty). Irish lifting do good deals, but you need to make sure they 1) have them in stock and 2) have the right diameter.
    I heard that the tri-grip plates can have a slightly different diameter which can have an effect if you are using them for deadlifts.

    This. The IL ones run small.

    Make sure you get 450mm diameter.
