It sadly is. With the comments sections now available in the Independent and the Journal the ranting has got worse. Their moderation is based around libel or obscenity but certainly not around accuracy. This has attracted a certain type of poster who's happy to rant down differing opinions without actually posting any evidence. You find many uber nationalists floating around back slapping each other.
