Korean Ginseng

Started taking this on Monday for a bit of extra energy. On Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday had serious pains in my stomach in the afternoon which eased off around 7pm.

Went to the doctor today as I've taken ginseng before and had no ill effects. Also decided to not take it this morning just in case it's what was causing it.

Doc said I probably had gastritis, gave me a prescription but said if I didn't get any pains today it was probably a side effect of the ginseng.

    I've had no pains today.

Anyone else experienced side effect like this from Korean ginseng?

I got a *severe* rash from taking Ginseng before - was up for 3 nights in a row wanting to tear my own skin off and having to have ice cold showers at 3am. Not pleasant.

I'd just stop taking the stuff if you suspect it's causing any sort of bad reaction tbh ...

People with eczema are advised not to take Ginseng, so it could well be the problem - I'd steer clear of it if you're seeing negative effects.

I've taken ginseng loads before and been fine, so it's just odd.

Oh wait sorry, I got you mixed up with the post above there, I thought it was affecting your skin too.

I found ginseng to be an enormous waste of time in general, only side effect was confusion as to why I bought it in the first place!
