On the back of the tub it says it is recommended to take within 30 days although I'm not sure if that's an expiration date or just the time you should take it over to achieve the best results, could it go off?

Cell mass is creatine etyl ester.

Not too sure about that product but I know a lot of people don't even bother looking at expiration dates on Whey Protein. Personally, I'd probably take Whey up to 6 months after its expiration date.

Last year, I came across a 2 year past expiry unopened tub of Maximuscle whey. I didn't want to chance it but a friend said he'd take it and he finished it without problem.

If I were you, I'd chance it but it's really up to yourself. It's a dried out powder after all... it'd be a total different story if the powder had got wet or something.

The 30 day thing is that tub gives you 30 days supply then you cycle off for 2 weeks.

They even say something like complete whole tub to make it sound like a prescription. It's all nonsense

Exactly..if kept cool and dry there's no reason why it shouldnt last for years past the expiry date...I have aten year old packet of Fry's cocoa that i've been keeping to test that theory and it still tastes like cocoa now.:)
