So as the title suggests when is it alright to actually get into a scuffle?

I havent been in a fight for probably 5 years but every night in town young fellas are knocking the head off each other -

So when is it alright to actually fight somebody else?

Also women hitting woman can be discussed too.

When its life threatening self defence - same applies to females if they attack with intention to kill.
    End of story.

In defence of your live, your families life and well being and in defence of your home would be the first things which comes to my mind.

I'd say there is more stupid reason's for fighting than valid tbh.

    Self defence.

On occasion a pre-emptive strike maybe required, to offset a potential outbreak of hostilities.

It gets murky when it's your property that is being.... threatened (?).

If there is someone downstairs stealing your stuff is it better to frighten them off rather than sneak up and smack with a club?

Self defence, whether your attacker is male or female.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,933 ✭✭✭Logical Fallacy

Self defence really, or in defence of someone else who is being attacked.

I'd also say when someone is talking **** and they have had two warnings to shut the **** up, the third warning should be a good smack in the chops.

I was in a chipper in Cavan one night after the niteclub had finished.

There was scuffle behind me, a shout of "you're worse than Hitler" and one guy trys to high kick the other on the head.

So if a guy is worse then Hitler it's ok!

When they tea-bag your drum kit. Of course.

Should it escalate to a full-blown fight in your front yard, then it is also okay to use a bike as a weapon.

Just don't say "let's get it on", lest you are accused of attempted rape.

Sneak up and whack em with a club/knife/whatever. No mercy for scumbags robbing your house. Too many horror stories.

I don't believe violence against anyone is ever a good thing BUT when it comes to defending yourself, your loved ones and your own I think it's understandable within reason.

Accepted protocol in Finglas is to approach your assailant, remove your glove, strike him roughly across the cheek with it and cry out "Have at you Sir!".
