    I've heard of a number of thefts of engines in the Dublin region in the past week. It's a good idea to ensure your engine is secured especially if the boat is out of the water for winter.

    It's getting way out of hand alright, maybe we should take a tip from the Uk.


    Devon & Cornwall Police are selling breathable outboard engine covers for ca. £15 (as illustrated click to supersize). The idea is that the outboard's top is removed when the boat is moored and replaced with one of these covers, the principle being that no one wants to steal an outboard without a proper top.

    dont know how off putting the cover would be to a thief, would think in a couple of months there would be quite a few motors for sale with it on cause orig. covers will be lost or damaged when not on the motor, also a lot of motorbikes been stolen lately,
