Does anyone know of any boxing gyms in Dublin where you might be able to join up just for the fitness aspect of it (as opposed to getting your head pummeled in for the privilege)?

You could try something like Boxercise classes? Otherwise, I'm sure there are clubs you can join and train without actually having to take part in fights.

Depends on the class really. Plus the OP has said they're not interested in the combat aspect, and just want to do it for fitness.

Have a look at this class, looks like what you're looking for.

This might have what you're looking for-Monday night they do a class called Box-It, lots of boxing and also core work for your abs. 'Tis fun too :)

These classes are pretty good if your around the city centre, I did them for a few months last year.

Lots of boxing and a bit of work on skills, unlike alot of the normal boxercise classes around.
