Ditto. And I also reckon there's truth to rumours about sinister masonic stuff.

    The moon landings

The moon landings one is always a good test as to whether someone is gullible or not.

Because believing in the moon landings conspiracy despite the fact that every single one of the "signs" of a conspiracy have been proven to be wrong time and time again shows you'll just believe sh*t if someone tells you, without actually checking out whether it's true of not.

I believe trade centre 7 was knocked with explosives.

Before anyone accuses me of calling 9/11 an inside job, I'm not. I'm merely saying TC7 was controlled.

I'm not one who believes about 9/11 that George Bush Jnr. did it with the assistance of the CIA or that it was the Jews that done it.

But there is something fishy about the whole thing, the manner in which the towers fell, the hole in the Pentagon with no plane debris visible and the questions surrounding the third tower which wasn't hit by a plane yet collapsed 8 hours later.

People also forget that about 10 days after 9/11 another plane went down in Queens and crashed mysteriously into a block of apartment. This was explained off at the time as 'an accident' and then quickly swept under the carpet. I don't buy it- they got hit twice but such was the grief of the nation at the time they couldn't admit it and were in denial.

There's just something really fishy about the whole thing and the official account of it comes across as a plethora of half-truths and outright lies.

I am not going to Google actual dates, but during the Reagan era he visited Saudi Arabia, pretty soon afterwards Saudi virtually broke with OPEC for a while and boosted oil production deflating the world oil and gas.

That was a big factor in the Soviet Union collapsing, Russia is a very big energy exporter.

I know it's a bit out there, but, I believe that a bunch of islamist extremists in a cave in Afghanistan conspired to hijack planes and use them as weapons against targets in the USA.

I believe Psychiatry and their prescription culture is not really a field of legitimate scientific practice. I do believe mental illness exists, just that they don't know how to define it or measure it. Certainly not a lack of serotonin in the brain as most are led to believe.

Come on, look at their claims: "The psychiatrist's choice of a treatment is based on its proven effectiveness in treating a symptom or illness. Psychiatric treatments (medications and counselling/psychotherapies) are researched and scrutinised in the same rigorous way as all other medical treatments. ." link

Yet there is so much actual evidence countering this conjecture, it's hard to believe most rational people would not accept the above statement as basically rubbish.

I don't think the full truth about 9/11 was ever revealed, not saying it was an inside job but there was a lot more to it. The US used it as a catalyst for the Iraq War. They targeted the wrong people

John Lennon' murder. He was being watched by the CIA while he lived in NY, they were perhaps behind it.

Roswell is very sketchy. Weather balloon my hole. At best, it was a top secret military project.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 413 ✭✭DontBanMe

We'll never know the full truth about anything of that sort. Or even the assinations of presidents of the USA. John Wilks Booth was killed before he could be tried or questioned properly and the same with Lee Harvey Oswald. Coincidence...... I think not!!!

Actually, with the exception of you. You're the only onw who wrote out a proper post.

Education is the best way to allow somebody a chance of sorting out the bull**** from the plausible stuff. Debunking is the term I prefer to use myself. Debunking has in the past proven to unearth some very unnerving stuff. Astrology is bull**** and was debunked by Philip J. Klass for instance:cool:

You're correct, WTC 7 was controlled and more importantly the BBC were reporting it had collapsed 20mins before it really did.
But how is it you can see that WTC 7 was controlled but you can't see that the whole events of that day were an inside job?

Yup. Another one is to ask unanswerable (on the spot) questions and fill all of the ambiguity surrounding the question and the answer with whatever they're trying to say they believe in.

    Example:

"I believe 9/11 was an inside job"

    "Why?"

"You honestly think blokes who live in caves in Afghanistan could've done this?"

    or

"You honestly think a guy could've learned to fly a plane into a building like that in x amount of time?"

Most of them think that ambiguity like that is checkmate! Proof isn't needed once there'a a silly question in there!

I would go as far as saying if you applied scientific skepticism to Office Politics, you would out anybody
with an MBA after their name as a person of bull. Management is a tough game, but it ain't science!

Richard Feynman wrote probably the most devestating critique of topics that on the surface appear scientific, but tend to crumble in later years due to gaping holes and flawed methodology. Believing something to be true until otherwise proven is not the application of the scientific method I am afraid.

Deffo worth listening to if you have the time! "Cargo Cult Science" - How apt!

Wanna give us the proof that WTC7 was a controlled explosion? We've all seen the video. It's not evidence of anything to be honest!

It's the foolish conspiracy buffs that give the other more credible peeps a bad name. The Roswell stuff is well dodgy to outright deny. one i believe.

this whole economic collapse is contrived and is the first big step towards a single currency for the whole planet, run by banks and thus negating the need for markets.

    or somethin..

Believing it without sufficient/ any evidence is basically what makes it a "consiracy theory" in modern vernacular. If there was enough convincing evidence for a theory to be convincing it would be a the "mainstream" belief - despite what CTers may say about it just being "stupidity"/"Sheep mentality"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wigysppDbc

WTC 7 has been dealt with repeatadly by the scientific and skeptical community. It becomes like a religion however, any contrary evidence no matter how convincing is merely part of the conspiracy http://www.debunking911.com/links.htm go nuts.

For every intelligent person with a well researched and put together argument, there's 10 idiots who sound like morons when they speak on these subjects.

Last time I had an argument over 9/11 (with my CT loving friend) she tried to tell me Ireland were on a secret mission in Iran. WTF??

With the CTers, they'll point something out and then when it's proven to them that they were mistaken they never say "Oh, ok that's fair enough" they just look for another discrepancy! it's in their mental framework that they want to be the ones "in the know" and everyone else is being controlled by the media and the normal bollocks!

Imagine the amount of people that would've had to be involved!

There's one of the 9/11 theories that says the passengers of United 93 were all in on it too and they're living off somewhere else (this is, of course, because the pentago was hit my missiles and not planes...... so that has to explain where the people went)
