    ITV 1 methinks.

I look forward to seeing Spain tear England a new one.

What makes you think they will tear them a new one. I see this being very close and the barca players are not firing on all cylinders at the minute

It wouldn't surprise me at all if England got something from the game. The press will go into overdrive stating that England ''are back'', Capello will be thinking he's a genius again, the players will think all they've got to do is turn up at the European Championships to win. Then, they'll scrape through an easy group and get beaten by the first decent and organised team they face.

However, Spain should win by 2.

I'm going to call an England win.

Spain at 5/6 is as close a thing to free money as I've seen for a while now.

What about Spain -1 at 12/5? With England having picked a relatively young squad minus their best attacker, and Spain picking a very strong squad, is that not great odds?

I can definitely see Spain winning this by a couple.

6-0 to Spain. John Terry to score 5 own goals & England to blame the defeat on the poppy saga.

Reckon Spain will prob line up like this
    Casillas
    Ramos-Puyol-Pique-Alba
    Sergio-Alonso
    Iniesta-Xavi-Silva
    Villa

2-0 Spain I reckon and at a canter.

England to grab a dull 1-1 draw and the media to go into "England as good as the best in the World" overdrive. Will make it all the funnier when they fall flat on their faces like usual next summer going out when they meet the first decent side.

Spain will destroy England for about 65 minutes and then sit back.

    Probably end in a draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,733 ✭✭✭✭Fr Tod Umptious

    My predictions

    1. if Spain win most here will laugh their asses off at the English and tell us how great a team Spain are and how we must bow down before them.

    2. If England win most here will tell us that it was a fluke and that Span fielded a weaken team, and that the Barca players are not in top gear yet and that the English media will never shut up about this win.

I'd say a 2-1 win for spain, will be close and a draw would not suprise me. Spain will dominate posession of course

Heading over in the morning to see this. Hoping for a great performance from Spain but as has been stated Barca players haven't been playing great. That being said I think they should still win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,228 ✭✭✭POKERKING

Spain are 5/6 to win, somethings telling me its free money and to lump on them, i really cant see england getting anything(results wise) considering the players there missing and the depth of the spanish squad.

If Spain take the game seriously and apply themselves fully to it they will win it's that simple. They're not playing a giant of international football as the English would have you believe.

One WC win and even then that was at home and the linesman cheated it for them. Take that away they've only ever made one World Cup semi-final in the history of the tournament and never mind win a Euro Championships, they've never fecking even made a final to win it! Somehow they've built themselves to be some major international nation on the football scene. But how? Their record is pants and they hardly ever take a major scalp and they won't the weekend if Spain apply themselves.

    Mon Espana!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,333 ✭✭✭jonnyfingers

England will win tonight. The press will claim that "England will win the world cup". We'll draw them in the finals and knock them out. Happy days!

And if you take away Spain's one WC win they have never made a WC final before. Or semi final, even at home.

Who gives a crap what happened in the past anyway. I know i'd like to see United play Nottm Forest in a Cup Final rather than Man City, but which one of them has the better history? Football isn't played in the history books.

Spain should win, they have better players, but they have been shocking in friendlies for a while now, losing to Argentina, Chile, Portugal and maybe others recently - England have a very decent chance of beating them tomorrow, though doing so wouldn't mean they are awesome - just that they beat Spain in a friendly.

You miss my point. Spain have a present. England don't and neither do they have even a past to be classed as a major international team. Most over-rated international team - ever.

Lampard on football focus talking about "We're England" and "We're at home".

I think you can now put your house on an away win this afternoon.

    2-1 Spain, I reckon.

I expect England, who nearly lost to Switzerland at home, to be found out of their depth against a world class team.

Spain could field this team of players, none of whom have even been capped and it would still be competitive against the English full team.

    De Gea
    Jose Enrique
    Alberto Botia
    Miguel
    Ivan Ramis
    Pedro Leon
    Granero
    Dani Parejo
    Arteta
    Canales
    Muniain

Catalonia or Basque Country would possibly beat them too.

I predict 2 minutes silence, a mention of the armbands, mention Britains Armed Forces, mention ressurection of Lampards England career, some anthems warbled by an opera singer, no atmosphere, shed load of changes at half time, which all the people in the expensive seats in Wembley will miss.

Andy Townsend to be as irritating as ever, at least one Chelsea player to get booed or told they are a waste of money, at least one of the commentators to get a warm sticky feeling when talking about how good Spain are. Couple of goals and waning interest.
