Wishful thinking (7/1)in the paddypower gold cup on Saturday. It's the big race of the day, He is second in the weights but I saw him last year at Punchestown and he was top weight in a handicap and he cruised around without out a problem. I has won at Cheltenham before and he also came second at the festival last year. He should come in the top five(in my opinion) and is a good each way bet to nothing.

I also fancy Cue Card (2/1) tomorrow in the final race of the day (I think), it's a novice chase, he ran the other week and ran well for first time out and two of the horses behind have won sense. He should be second favourite behind Grands Crus.

I didn't look at the rest of the cards and probably only back these two myself.

I saw the race cue card ran in last and his jumping was amazing tbh, he really pinged the last few jumps. Looks unreal classy.

What race will he be aiming for in cheltenham in march?

Well i think grands crus will hammer cue card today.stamina will tell.
I think cue card is still been giving credit for his cheltenham bumper win.

I will be on Grand Crus myself, but I dont think that stamina is the issue, Cue Card has always looked like he needs a trip.

Pigeon Island. The brilliant DOC rides today and that will be a real plus as this horse tends to lose interest in races and hits the odd fence.Has run well at Cheltenham before and also has run against the best around if he runs to his Weird Al run[beaten 2l in novice chase @ Chel] he wins this race.I just hope DOC does not get to far behind but at 12/1 he is very good value as I think he is well in.

Iv a little reverse forecast on Barrel for laughs and time for spring. I was really torn between swing bill and time for spring so I went for the lower weight.

I'm hopeful of a big performance from Grand Crus today. Cue Card jumped well last time out and it bodes well to have had a run this season but it was a canter. I would like to see a more truly run race today so we can get a better judge of how good Cue Card is.

    Peddlers Cross for the Arkle.

What a delightful person you are. Without being a cheeky cunt you could give your opinion on why he will go for the Arkle over the RSA instead of being a prick.

I dont think he really gets 3 miles, i think he has bags of speed and would be more suited to the breakneck pace of the Arkle than the gruelling RSA.

Thanks, I'm only following racing a few years. Is it common for 3 mile hurdlers starting over fences to run in the Arkle?

Its not uncommon i suppose. My Way De Solzen won the Arkle they year after winning the Stayers hurdle.

My way de Solzen had won a good few hurdle races at 2M, 2m 1, the shortest distance Grand Crus has ever won over hurdles was 2m 5f and even that was only a muddling race where he was rated in the low 130's.

I do think he has the natural speed to be very close to winning an Arkle which isnt really a 2M race in the true sense of it due to the pace they go, but the RSA would seem the more logical race, although as you say the RSA is a gruelling race for a novice and has left its mark on alot of top class animals.

Persoanlly I wouldnt be backing him for an Arkle without NRNB but its not the craziest thing ever.

Why would you say that Richie?

I'd say he has a better chance of turning up there than the Arkle

He has a better chance of turning up in the glue factory than the Arkle.

Maybe if Henrietta Knight trained him he might.

The Jewson is a handicap, Imagine the weight he would get by then. Grands Crus days of running in handicaps are over. I repeat there is less than 0% chance he turns up there, he probably wont even get an entry.

Scudamore said after the race today that he has the speed for 2 miles which is encouraging.

Grand Crus will run in a Grade 1 at the festival, whichever that may be.

Grand crus is 7/2 fav for the RSA and not listed for the Arkle (paddy powers)

Well Chief wasnt priced up for the Arkle until 2 months before he won it

There is 0% chance he'll go to the handicap race, but the Jewson Novice Chase is the one I'm on about which was won by Noble Prince

Again, Grands Crus will run in a Grade 1 at the festival.

It will most likely be the RSA, but i think, my opinion is, it should be the Arkle
