Cigar smoke. Used love when my cigar-smoking uncles would visit when I was a child, and fill the house with the delicious smell of cigar smoke. I've often contemplated buying cigars and letting them burn in the house - might still do it one day.

Coffee, freshly brewed - cakes/bread, freshly baked.

Onions, garlic, ginger and chilli frying in a pan waiting for whatever's going to be added to the pan.

The smell of onions on my hands after chopping it to go in the above-mentioned pan.

Freshly washed hair, freshly laundered bed-clothes (and actual clothes).

Calvin Klein's perfumes: CK1 and CKB [CK1 smells lovely on men too].

Grass [the smoking kind] - absolutely love the smell of grass, in the bag and being burned.

    The sea.

Most flowers, but some are superior to others.

The smell of September (a sunny day in September) when the smell in the air is different and tells you a new season has begun.

This list could end up quite long :p I'll leave it there for now.

Oh, except to add that at two different times of my life I really liked two particular smells that weren't all that pleasant, but they reminded me of (two different) things I liked being reminded of. Smell really is a powerful little critter, capable of evoking all sorts of memories and emotions. :D

Here's a crazy one for you, how about smoking them yourself? In my experience cigars generally smell like the smell of cigars.

and don't know why, but when I was young I'd love going into a pub with my grandfather on a Sunday morning for pub grub and smelling the stale beer and cigarette smoke from the night before!!

I don't like smoking cigars - so smoking them wouldn't be part of the pleasure for me.

Your experience of the smell of cigars is the same as mine. They do smell like cigars. Deliciously so.
