I'm looking to put together a list of pubs in Dublin City Centre(ish) Area that are now doing cheap drink.

The few i know of are :

    Dicey's (Mid Week)

    O'Reilly's (All Week)

    The Vaults (Fridays)

    MacTurcaills (Fridays)

    Pygmalion (Sundays)

I'm a bit sick of O'Reillys and would love to know of a few more places that are offering cheap pints, especially on a Saturday.

    Cheers.

Is the Harbourmaster in the IFSC still open?

Used to be three euro all drinks on Thursdays and Fridays

Last time (2 months ago) i was in the vaults it had changed from 2 for 1 to €4 all drinks which isn't too bad.

Harbourmaster stopped doing the cheap drink a long time ago. Got a new owner.

    Great Thread.

Afaik the dark horse on the quays does €3 pints every Friday until 9.
All my other contributions are private clubs..€2.98 €3.30 €3.70 a pint so some advice to all is look into your local gaa/soccer/rugby/p&p club for some 7 day deals!

Porterhouse on Nassau Street does 2 for 1 cocktails on Friday's I think.

Pav in Trinity does a pint of Beck's for €3 or 4 cans for €8,never any hassle there and always a fair few attractive posh lady's!

The Lincoln Inn at the back of Trinity do €4 pints all the time.

I got 2 pints of paulaner, a double vodka and coke and a shot of sambuca in Diceys last friday at about 2 a.m. for €20.50!

Even in Limerick that would've cost about €25, thought it would very good value. Good spot too! :D

Just on the vaults, haven't been there in about 5 years, but is the bar still a nightmare to get served at? Good idea for thread btw :)

3 euro Guinness in Sin E from Sunday - Wednesday. I think that's still running anyways. They used to have a 9pm time limit on it and it didn't apply on the Sunday of Bank Holidays.

The Thomas House do all pints (and a lot of pint bottles) for 4 euro all the time.

Could anybody recomend a pub in the city that does good drink deals that would be good to go and watch the Ireland match in tomorrow night?

Have been trying to come up with a place for the last 2 days and still haven't been able to think of a place that is cheap but also vitally have decent TV access and will have a good atmosphere for the game.

    Sublounge is terrible for this.

    MacT's also isn't great.

The Shakespeare (Hop House) on Parnell St do pitchers of Bavaria for €9.50. I consider that a bargain!

Just checked out photos of the pub on their Facebook page and it looks like they only have the one tv there though?

Might pop a message on their page and see what they say.

    Thanks

Ive decided to go to the Shakespeare for the cheap pitchers then over to the woolshed for the game itself. Best of both worlds.

The Ginger Man does cheap pints. 3.50 for their craft beers. Messrs Maguire do some similar drinks for 4 euro.
The Bleeding Horse have altered their prices too and have recently been offering pints for in and around the 4 euro mark.
Russells in Ranelagh do 4 euro pints up until 6 everyday.
The Pint on the quays also does 4 euro pints.

Downstairs in the rock bar in Bruxelles on Harry Street all pints are €4 until midnight every night.

I just get my pints in there then go back upstairs or across to the other downstairs bar.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,753 ✭✭✭davet82

All drinks €3.50, til 7pm, Monday - Friday, Peddar Kearneys on Dame Street

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 BigBar85

Well i went up Sunday and went into Cafe Royal, 3 euro a pint but the smell was unbearable so we bolted it, next onto temple bar, and yes im aware its temple bar but we were charged 5.40 for a Heineken and 6.50 for a pint bottle of Bulmers!!!!! Finally we settled into the Purty Kitchen, perfect! 4 euro a pint and specials on other drinks/cocktails!

also isnt diceys a nightclub rather than a bar?

is this nightclubs and bars or just bars?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 50 ✭✭Jackmcg

€10 for a pitcher of fosters (I think) in the trendy new U-bar in Christchurch, I got a nice pitcher of templebrau for €12 in Porterhouse nassau street and saw they had pitchers of cocktails advertized for €20.. Crawdaddy and ALT do good prices for nightclubs and ya cant go wrong with cans at the Pav in Trinity!

    Hi,

I run the http://publin.ie site and I noticed I was getting a lot of hits from this thread. I know boards don't tolerate spam, but I'm not trying that. I've been a member for a while and I used to play on the boards team.

We're up to 200 pubs on the site and have 500 drinks promotions. If you see anything on the site that's incorrect or know of any other deals that should be listed, just drop it here and I'll change it. Anything else you'd like to see on the site? I've added themed pub craws, lists of pubs with pool tables and beer gardens. I've also expanded out to Ballsbridge, Drumcondra and Rathmines/Ranelagh.

    Cheers!

    Great thread lads!

I normally end up in Temple Bar - €6.40 for pints of Kilkenny!!

Do cheap pints on Paddy's Day exist? :)

didnt know kilkenny was still available, let alone on tap. you would be mad to spend that amount though

Yup! It's still available, but it's not so easy to find in Dublin. Far superior to Smithwicks imo, though that can be found everywhere.

It is indeed mad but it's Temple Bar afterall!

Loving the publin site, it's a small bit outdated currently as o'reillys are now 3.40 a pint, macturcaills now 3.60(I wouldn't know about the expensive pubs tbh!). Oh and diceys on Tuesday is now 2.50 a pint... :( recession is over lads
Anyway just wanted to add a bar to the list, Ned Keenan's is a fantastic little bar and €3.50 pints until 11(I think every night but not 100% sure). Mcgowans also have €3.50 pints all night Sundays, Mondays and Thursday.
Also Kinkenny is on tap in the gingerman!

There are a few local bars near this with very cheap drinks on tap but it's normally fosters etc, but if ya head into a lot of places in town and ask for the house beer it's only €4ish which isn't bad for a place like sweeneys.

Anyway am posting as I want a bar more focused on sports which has cheap pints going on :) - the local has fosters for 3.50 a pint which isn't too bad at least. Be great if someone knows a nice sports bar though
