Peaking fitness once a week for astro football

    Whats the best way to peak fitness for an astroturf football session once a week... (do alot of running one end of the astroturf pitch to the other)

    I do some jogging the rest of the week and try to get to gym for non cardio stuff too.

    What type of jogging is best to prepare for this?? Maybe intervals of Sprinting, then walking, then jogging??

    Would taking a rest day the day before the football be the best way to get the energy levels up? (Only thing is at the moment the day before the football i have a day off so like to go jogging this day!)
