Arsenal head into this clash against their Midlands opponents off a wonderful victory over rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and a solid display against Marseille on home soil in the Champions League midweek. Current Premier League top scorer Robin van Persie will be the dangerman for the Gunners this afternoon as he already has ten goals this season, including a hat-trick against Chelsea last weekend. Arsenal have won eight out of their last nine matches in all competitions and are improving at home. They will be favourties to win this one against the Baggies.

Albion actually picked up a shock result against Arsene Wenger’s side last term as they left The Emirates with a 3-2 victory under their belt. Goals from Peter Odemwingie, Gonzalo Jara and Jerome Thomas, a former Arsenal player, sealed the win for the Throstles. This shows West Brom are no pushovers and can beat the very best on their day. Albion earnt back to back wins before they lost to Liverpool 2-0 last weekend at the Hawthorns. Hodgson’s men will be looking to forget that result against Liverpool quickly and focus on the game tomorrow.

Key men – Robin Van Persie

The Dutchman is in tremendous form of late and will be a real handful for the Albion backline. Van Persie has ten goals already and was rested in the midweek match against Marseille, signalling that he will probably start. He’s formed a great relationship with Gervinho and this is sure to cause the visitors lots of problems.

    Key man – Somen Tchoyi

The Cameroon international will be the key man for Roy Hodgson’s side tomorrow afternoon as other strikers Long and Odemwingie are out with injuries repsectively. Tchoyi will have to hold the ball up well, even more so if Albion play a 451 system, create chances and use his pace and power to hurt Mertesacker & Co. He’s yet to score in the Premiership this season, tomorrow’s game could be his day.

    Arsenal Team News

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie will return to the starting line-up after beginning on the bench in midweek.
Laurent Koscielny may also reclaim his place after being rested against
    Marseille.
Kieran Gibbs and Marouane Chamakh remain sidelined.
    West Brom Team News

West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie is a doubt after hurting his knee in training this week.
Paul Scharner suffered knee ligament damage against Liverpool last Saturday and is ruled out.
Other forward Shane Long is still out with the injury he picked up against Aston Villa.
Somen Tchoyi and Simon Cox are set to replace the two frontmen.

West Brom should not be taken lightly as they are a potential banana skin for any team. Arsenal have struggled with them in the past so a strong team is required. Full concentration and no silly messing.

Well if they turn up like they did'nt against Liverpool you'll be fine, about 5-0 and a RvP hattrick. On the other hand there may be a reaction to that performance.

I hate saying tis, but I can't see anything other than an Arsenal victory with the form we're in, and WBA's form away is terrible.

Watch that come back and bite me in the ass. :pac:

I have a great feeling about this game. No disrespect to the Albion but I am supremely confident of an Arsenal victory.

Van Persie should be taking the frees. Haven't see Arteta hit a good one yet.
Jesus Santos took it, poor free kick. Let RVP take them.

Jenkinson took one just there and he's so much better.

We are tearing them apart on the right hand side though. And tbf to Walcott, were never gonna score a header so all of his near post crosses are either going to luck genius or awful.

edit: Jenkinson has a nice crossing technique. Wasted with Arsenal :P

    http://sopcast.en.softonic.com/

Click on the link and download the program. When it's finished downloading click on it and install it. It's a simple procedure just follow the instructions. When it's finished just let the program log you in automatically as a guest.

Click on the Arsenal West Brom sopcast links and it will load up in sopcast. The Romanian ones and that's it. Enjoy! :)

    Walcott has been dreadful again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

Ive just realised that as it stands currently, we have a positive goal difference for the first time this season. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Since there are no calls for RVP to be the president of the world, I'm guessing it's still 2-0? Do we look like scoring again or are West Brom showing anything?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,921 ✭✭✭pudzey101

ya walcott is having a bad day yet again !! :) anyone know if chamberlain is in the squad? Last time i saw him play he was far more dangerous than walcott IMO :)

Looks like floodgates but we can't seem to find room in the box

I know West Brom arent posing much of a threat but this is the most solid ive seen Arsenal in a while. Not giving the ball away that much either.

oh and Jenkinson has been great
