Most Overrated Shows on TV?

    Well movies and music got their threads on this forum , twas only a matter of time before tv shows got one.so thoughts? I dont really know of many overrated tv shows, but one I do know is glee, that is definitely overrated!

    Glee might be loved by a set audience, but otherwise, plenty dislike it - it's not praised to infinity like The Wire.

    Have to agree about The Wire. Read and heard so much hype about it on forums but when I finally got round to watching it the show proved to be a bit of a let down. Definitely overrated IMO

    Did you watch beyond season one? Season two is below par but beyond that it is excellent

    Most definatly the wire. I cant for the life of me figure out why its so highly rated. A load of nothing happens in each episode and McNulty is a twat. I watched all the seasons none of them Id rate above average

    To people who don't like The Wire.

    Just give it a chance. I couldn't be bothered with it half way through the 2nd series and stopped watching until I gave it another chance after all I started hearing about it.

    Best decision ever. Its phenomenal.

    It's highly rated because of its realism and its attempt to critique and juxtapose different institutions and the people within them. It's considered a great show because of how it doesn't rely too much on exposition to drive a point home. It's subtle. It doesn't dumb anything down.

    Tbh, I still haven't heard a convincing argument as to why The Wire is a bad show. Maybe it is overrated, I don't know. I don't think it is though.
