Whey/Protein Powder Recipes

    I was thinking you could probably use protein powder in some slightly more interesting ways such as making muffins or something with a combination of eggs/protein powder/oats that you could put some butter on and have as a breakfast or mid-morning snack. Has anyone ever tried this or have any good recipes? I came across a few online but they're all American measures and all that cup nonsense is a pain in the face.

    Whey ice-cream

    100ml egg white.
    1 scoop whey
    50ml liquid of your choice (water, milk, cream, soy milk)
    Dollop of greek yogurt if you want.

    Whisk the egg white till stiff.
    Whisk the whey, liquid and yogurt, then fold in.
    Freeze.

    I made a whey protein shake (with water) one morning cause I didn't want to eat eggs that morn. I drank half of it but I put the rest in with my porridge which I made with water. It gave the porridge more of a creamy taste.

    Question: Reading the protein tub it says that when you make up the shake it you should consume it within 20 minutes. That suggests to me that the quality of the protein deteriorates once mixed with liquid. Would the same not apply when using it in cooking and baking?

    It doesn't deteriorate (except possibly into an amino acid soup, which is fine), but bacteria does start growing fairly rapidly in a nice warm, wet, nutritious environment like that I'd imagine.

    Plus, those shakes tend to separate out into a nasty mess. It's the texture that goes wrong, not the protein.

    It's Holland and Barrett whey. It's my first time using the stuff. H&B had it for sale at half price so that's why I got it there.
