Intolerance to dairy after common cold

    Hi everyone,

I'm quite interested in food and nutrition and only just realised theres a whole section dedicated to it on boards.ie! Love it!
Anyway, I had a fairly bad cold last week and am just getting over it now. However now I'm finding that I might be intolerant of dairy - I never had any problems before and was quite a big dairy eater. But today for example, avoided dairy for brekkie (as I was getting suspicious already), small bit of milk in my tea. No symptoms. After lunch (also dairy free) I risked a creamy biscuit and felt v nauseous about 20mins later which lasted for several hours.
Felt fine then, had dinner (dairy free) felt grand. Then had some steamed apple with ice cream (mmm!) and again 20mins or so later - symptoms return!
Anyone ever heard of this before? (I'm not looking for medical advice or anything) I'm happy enough to avoid dairy for a few days and then revisit it, I'm just curious more than anything!

    jendafer :)
