80 year old Palestinian woman stoned by Jewish settlers

RAMALLAH, October 31, 2011 (WAFA) – A group of Jewish settlers Monday stoned an elderly Palestinian lady as she was picking olives in Mukhmas, a village southeast of Ramallah in the West Bank, according to local sources.

The 80-year-old woman was reported to be injured in the head and transferred to hospital for treatment.

Settlers have escalated their attacks on Palestinians, especially farmers, since the beginning of October to coincide with the olive picking season, a time of great significance to the Palestinian community.

It's the lack of consequences for the settlers violent behaviour that emboldens them to commit these savage acts of brutality. The latest olive harvest factsheet from the OCHA states

5. A pervasive and long standing lack of accountability is a key factor encouraging settler violence, including in the context of the olive harvest. The large majority of complaints filed with the Israeli Police following settler attacks are regularly closed without indictment.

The israelis have being doing to the palestinians the same as was what was done to themselves around europe not too long ago.They called it anti semitism.what would they call this ?Im not anti israeli or pro palestinian but i think israel has double standards concerning human rights.

Spare a thought for those kids at least, it's not like there is any doubt that those settlers can be a horrible bunch.

It really angers me to see anyone try to defend the kind of actions that video alleges.

But I am also not convinced that the kids in this video are being stoned by settlers, it looks like propaganda to me.

Not many people will deny that the settlers are a horrible bunch. There's even supporters of Israel on here who will say as much, having actually met them (as opposed to reading about them on the internet). But that video doesn't show anything and comes across as faked. It could be real and those kids could have been attacked. But that's not shown. So you're just assuming it must be true because of a preconceived notion of the settlers.

I watched a video about these guys a while back, they sauntered onto an elderly Palestinian farmers land and were cutting his olives trees down and burning his crops, no bother doing it in front of cameras, the old man was just on his knees crying wretchedly and begging the men to stop, at his age there was no hope of ever growing another olive tree to fruit baring age

it takes 10 years before an olive tree starts to bear crops that can be sold and their peak production is between 30 and 70 years... absolutely criminal.

Probably one of the saddest and most angering things I've ever watched.

I was rabidly pro Israeli for a long time, simply because I despised militant Islam. It was only after meeting liberals from both sides that I began to unravel the whole picture.

Simply put......it is an intractable situation. It has been since the 1930's, and even before. Its a horrible mix of money, race, human rights, religion, and history. If God is a comedian, Israel is proof he is a comedian with a sick sense of humour.

Lets see: Moses decides to lead the chosen people to Israel. Guess what....Moses (Musa) is a great prophet in Islam. So is his brother Aaron (Harun). His son Jesus (Isa in Islam) dies in Jerusalem and rises to heaven from where the Muslim Mosque....the Dome on the Rock is now.

The last prophet....Muhammed goes to heaven from the same place.

The one location is sacred to all three religions.

Millions of Jews died in the gas chambers of Majdanek, Trebinka, Auschwitz, Sobibor. There is no denying that. And their legacy, the guilt of the world was given to Israel. A nation given by the guilt of indifference, and it could have been avoided by stopping Hitler say in 1935 or 1936....but at what price.

As for the Palestinians, they are a convenient pawn for the likes of Saudi Arabia, and others. They can scream and shout to the high heavens about Human rights violations by the Israelis, while so much is done within their own nations.....and guess.

The average Muslim nation ignores the evils done within their own borders against their own. But when it comes to Israel......their eyes are wide open.

I despise the Saudi Royal Family, and pray for the day those "unprintables" are hanging from the central Mosque in Riyadh.
