I always thought this must be lethal, clashing a stimulant with a depressant can't be good for you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 458 ✭✭Eldoco

agreed plus sometimes you don't actually get red bull just some cheap ass imitation but still some charge the same.

Price of spirits and red bull are both a complete joke in Ireland. It's a bad mix and usually costs an arm and a leg and you're finished it in 15 minutes max. You'd be broke before ya get drunk if ya had a few of them.

About ten years ago I worked in a bar with a function room, at weekends. For 21st parties, the biggest seller was a triple vodka with red bull in a pint glass with ice - we used to sell it for a tenner at the time. I remember telling the manager that I was sure it was illegal to sell 'one' drink like this but he just looked at me, with dollar signs in his eyes....

My lasting memory of those nights was of the rancid smell of red bull and my feet sticking to the floor as I tried to clean up after the 'revellers'....it's awful stuff!

Good fecking jaysus and people are skint these days. Maybe one at the end of the night when you're banjacked to perk yourself up so ya might be able to manage even a horn for a few minutes but feck getting too many at that price:D

Would never drink it in a pub only ever in a nightclub when its on special like 8 euro would usually have 1 or 2 and then onto the pints, however when on holidays ie Spain etc its dirt cheap so would always drink it when I'm away

The exact reason to why i sneek a jumbo naggon of vodka to the club with me :) and i can have it as weak/ strong as i like haha

I used to drink Double Vodka and red bull, but its too far expensive

Either double vodka and red bull or 7up. I was paying 12 something for double vodka and red bull in the club Saturday night and the club I was in Thursday night were charging 10 euro for them.

It's great stuff though, nothing better to keep you going if the tiredness starts to hit on a night out, we call it "wake up juice".

Always hated the taste of redbull and when i tried it with vodka years ago i found it made me forget most of the night. Double vodka and cranberry is where its at :)

€13.00 in one the clubs here.. €4.50 vodka n €4.00 redbull. Madness!

Why would it be illegal? Genuinely curious.

them Jagerbombs (red bull + jagermeister) are a disgrace at the price aswelll!!..prices change every single week

I was out drinking with a few Russians a while back and we were drinking something called Russisch Koks (Russian Coke). You had a slice of lime, put a teaspoon of coffee powder and a teaspoon of brown sugar on the lime, bite it and throw back the vodka on top. Instant rush and a lot better than any vodka energy drink.

Its safety is in question the taurine was never tested. also it enables you drink far to much, when you drink that amount of double vodkas you should be on the floor instead of being the best dancer in the disco.

5.50 for double vodka and red bull in a club in Galway! ha take that Dublin

Used to drink DVRB all the time when I was out. The tricky thing with the stuff is that even when you're hammered you just keep going. Nasty sweats at night after the stuff too, but that's from all the sugar in the redbull. The best way to drink the stuff is in a pint glass, single vodka, redbull and add in some water. Wouldn't drink doubles these days and I don't like the hangovers, but it can be a good drink if you're playing catch-up or are wrecked tired when you're heading out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,775 ✭✭✭✭kfallon

The smell of red bull alone makes me feel like puking, hate the stuff!

Wouldn't drink it with vodka or even on its own!

I love a single vodka measure with red bull but only drink it on a night out and only have the one as a treat might have two if I can afford it. Ya it is quiet expensive so tend to stick with alcopops when going out.

Generally people probably buy the vodka and red bull and have it at home its more cost affective. The thing with it is it tastes so nice that you could drink too much of it. Guy can't handle it neither can they handle cocktails like us ladies.

I only have vodka and red bull as treat really. Its nice, and easy to drink. I find the double measure doesn't go down well with me so find the single vodka measure is fine. Ya its expensive but if you shop around you get a good bargain around pubs. Cheaper in pubs/late bars than the nightclubs. And depends on what vodka brand the pub/club uses can determine the cost.

There are places that it is far too pricey. Around €7-8.50 be about right anything more be too expensive.

Why on earth would someone pay that price? You would have to be mad to pay that for one drink. And lets be honest, many would get more than one on the night too.

    mental :p

I'd rather chat to someone that had snorted a bowl of cocaine, than someone after a few cans of fcuking red bull.

It's far too overprced and on the off chance that I do order it, I want Red Bull! Not Shark or that Energise shíte.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 882 ✭✭✭cosanostra

I sometimes substitute the redbull for wkd blue when doing a jagerbomb not much difference in the price and at least it has a bit of alcohol in it. Know a few girls that drink double vodka and west coast cooler for the same reason

Double vodka and red bull........ the fuel of the Celtic tiger.
I won't weep to see it go.

Double vodka and Red Bull cost 11 euro in the pub last night. Unfortunately, If I drank red bull Id end up in the hospital so I'm afraid it's usually vodka and diet coke for me fein

One of the nice parts of drinking is the ease at which I can get asleep afterwards.

drinking Redbull with it seems like a waste..and it tastes like perfume.

implying redbull is any different from cheap ass energy drinks and the price isn't purely to pay for the massive advertising

I haven't even been able to look at Red Bull since a horrible vomiting incident following a few Jager Bombs at a work party a couple of years ago. Ew. The smell of it alone turns my stomach.

I drink vodka and red bull because its cheap its 4.50 for a double and red bull in the pub or 5.50 in the nightclub ahh Sligo and your ridiculously cheap alcohol how i salute you.

Red bull is far nicer than the likes of shark etc hate when I'm handed stuff other than red bull when I order a double vodka and red bull.

Only ask for it if there's a double vodka redbull deal for a tenner, or if i know the barman.

On a student night in Manchester (where I go to uni) the standard price for a double vodka redbull is £2.50. A lot cheaper than some of the concoctions some posters have quoted. I've been in some horrible states from a night out on those. It tastes shite. I tend to stick to vodka and coke or something if I'm on the spirits on a night out - at least it tastes alright then

A little off topic, but does anyone else find that when in rounds people drinking - for example - a vodka and lime, ask for a vodka and red bull when someone else is paying.

This really pees me off - it's two fugging drinks. Greedy bastards

My boss drinks double vodka/red bull all the time in the local its €11.50 a pop! Ridiculous carry on. He also has a knack for a thing called a 'Buffalo Bomb' basically a Jaegerbomb with a shot of vodka on top! Needless to say i don't get into rounds with him!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,925 ✭✭✭pudzey101

Club K in Galway has double Vodkas and Red Bull for 5.50. Great value considering it's average cost elsewhere.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,333 ✭✭✭✭itsallaboutheL

Few places in Galway are doing double watered down paint stripper and some yellow sugary crap for ~5.

In a semi related note i was once charged €37 for a double vodka and redbull and a double Captain and coke.

I got charged 14.50 in a night club there few weeks ago ,never again

Nicest drink you can drink authority there is southern comfort and west coast cooler in glass with ice. Its about 9 euro but beautiful to drink. Dangerous in that you could throw back 7-8 or them and not a bother till u later realise your hammered. Introduced a good few friends and workmates to it and not one person did i get negative response from.

    Try it and see???
