Consistency in chaos?

Hey everyone just wondering how do you keep maintaining consistent gains in weights when something is always interrupting any kind of routine you had going.

I began getting serious about my gains about 2 years ago and was doing well up until I decided to do a J1 to America. That cut most of my gains to nothing. Got back and built everything I lost back up again and surpassed my previous gains. Then left for Australia and lost a bit and was just starting to build it back up again but now I just got a job were I'll be away in the outback for weeks at a time. I'll be away from any gym and probably too tired and hot to work out so when I do finish in this job I'll prob have to build back to my previous weights yet again. I do get a week off every few weeks were I'll have access to a gym and will be taking advantage of this and trying to maintain if I can but I don't know how effective this will be when it will probably only be one week out of every 5. Then if things go to plan I'll once again be leaving about 4 or 5 months after this to travel a bit more for 9 months to a year.

Is there any way I can maintain my numbers for squats, deads, bench and overhead press with all this inconsistency in my training? I'd rather not drop back to the beginning everytime I do a bit of traveling or I don't have access to a gym for a while.

While I can see how maintaining a consistent program when you don't know what equipment you'll have access to would be difficult. Sounds like you need to prioritise doing bodyweight exercises to keep fit, so you can do them anywhere & anytime. There are LOADS of routines & some pretty freaky looking stuff out there, just google it. Believe you can find something that you'll enjoy. And I'm sure you can get tips from others outback who do workouts as well in that heat. Think outside of the box.

There's a lot of challenging bodyweight exercises you can do with very portable equipment like rings and webbing. It shouldn't be too difficult to find something you can do pull ups on either. You'll probably have to improvise creatively to cover everything, but keep in mind that maintaining gains is easier than attaining them, so it should be possible.

I've never done any bodyweight routines any recommendations? The only one I know of is never gym so may give that a go.

Alright great I'll look for some work outs that incorporate them into it.
