    2-1 Arsenal.

Van the man with a brace and Arsenal to f*ck up at the back and let Torres slip 1 in.

    Come on you Gunners! :D

Quietly confident we won't lose, we've improves immensly in recent weeks. Tough match though, so I'd be very happy with a draw.

    Zing!!!!!!!!!!

Dunno why but have a good feeling Arsenal could nick this. We have been improving alot in recent weeks and we have shown a bit more determination then the last few years.

With Arsenal's away record not being the best I'd take a draw now.

A win would be a fantastic result and put the team right back into the thick of a top 4 finish!

I'm going to say 3-0 Chelsea

Its important for Chelsea to win this home game so we keep in touch with the Mancs (City that is!).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,931 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

3-1 to the Blues, Torres, Sturridge and Ramires (provided he is played!)
Van Persie to get the goal for Arsenal.

Hoping for a good one. I'll say 2-0 Chelsea though.

I reckon a draw, Arsenal looking a lot more solid last few weeks and Chelsea off the back of a bad result.

    Did bosingwa's red get rescinded?

    makes no difference.

he was banned for the League Cup game.

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 492 ✭✭thebison

Yep bosingwa only missed the Carling Cup game.

Really looking forward to seeing Torres, Mata & Sturridge run rings around Mert.

This game will really show if Torres is "back"...I'm sure he will be raring to go!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,240 ✭✭✭bullpost

Torres will be under pressure again for this one given Drogba's tremendous record against Arsenal in recent times.

    3-1 Chelsea

Big game from Torres, he'll bag 2, Danny get's the third.

Liam Brady or Ian Wright or someone to score for Arsenal, I don't really care tbh.

Ah right, thought it was a straight red so was expectin him out for 3 games.

It was a straight red but it was a professional foul so it's only 1 game.

3 game bans are mainly for violent conduct.

Torres to make Chelsea fans cry again I'd say!

No other injuries are reported apart from Michael Essien who is out long-term. Didier Drogba is also suspended but Ashley Cole and Jose Bosingwa have completed one-match bans.

Yep, fully expect some Torres and Danny magic.
Shame we are not playing the Arsenal team that Man U did.
In complete disarray but still managed to score against Utd.
Utd should have to replay that game and the Spurs one, they were such a joke. Still, reality has caught up with them now :p

Don't think it'll be as cut and dried as some of you Chelsea fans [and others] think. We've Vermaelen back this weekend and we are playing decently at the moment whilst RVP is on fire.

Yeah, on paper Chelsea have a stronger team than us but we all know how much paper victories are worth. I wouldn't be surprised to see us nick it, the spell Chelsea have had on us as a result of the Mourinho/Drogba diminishes further with every game we play against them.

I thought Vermaelen was ruled out of tomorrows game?

I'd say if he's fit he'll play; the 80mins midweek were to get him up to match sharpness I'd imagine.

I'd be quite happy for vermaelen not to play, Arsenal have a terrible habit of rushing players back for big games causing them to be crocked for even longer.

I think himself and Koscielny are the correct partnership for the threats Chelsea have - with Drogba gone there's less need for the presence of Mertesacker.

This is the first test of the new team [I'm discounting our first month or so of the season obviously] and whilst I do think Chelsea are man for man stronger than us, and AVB is a fantastic coach, I don't think Chelsea have the same aura about them as the Mourinho/Drogba years when all they had to do was show up to beat us.

If Song-Ramsey-Arteta can gain parity or even an advantage in midfield, which I think they are capable of doing, then with RVP on form I think we can get a result. The concern for me, and I'm pretty sure the shrewdness of AVB will see him zone in on this, is our full backs - Djourou isn't one and Jenkinson isn't ready for this level yet whilst Santos has been sketchy. Bosingwa and Cole are excellent attacking full backs and Chelsea can get at us that way.

Either way, I'm looking forward to this.

    Handy 5-0 win to Chelsea.

Predict a draw. Hope we can do better on the right side. Ashley Cole could give Jenkinson a torrid time and we need Theo tracking back to help. We seem to be improving though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,500 ✭✭✭Drexel

Is Ashley Cole not suspended for this game?

Edit: never mind. He isn't. I thought i had read that some where

Agreed. Mourinhos Chelsea was built on power, almost a route one team sometimes, getting it up to Drogba and letting him use his power and strength.
AVB is building more of a "football" team, fast attacking, one touch passing and pressing up high.
It should be a good game with both teams eager to play football and no mind games that can spoil these occasions.
Chelsea havent kept a clean sheet in ages, but hopefully the guile of Mata feeding Danny and Torres will see us though. Certainly no pushover though

Shocked with some of the predictions here given the recent form of the two sides. Itt'l definetly be a close game.

Why shocked? Arsenal have been on a good run the last few weeks but they need to do it against a couple of good teams before you can believe they have turned the corner IMO.

Arsenal fans themselves have been critical of Arsenal in the last few weeks as some performances although winning haven't been good enough.

    Time will tell i guess:)

Chelsea haven't exactly been spectacular themselves..

Ease up on the info there buddy.

Chelsea lost a Derby last week 1-0 while down to 9 men and very nearly got something from the game.

Chelsea have practically qualified from their group in the Champions League already and are 3rd in the league.
All this with a new manager on board.

Chelsea are at home tomorrow and have been in much better form this season than Arsenal IMO

I can quite clearly see why a lot of posters would think Chelsea will win this game.
OF course it's all about opinions and if i'm wrong so be it
