Hey guys, joined a gym a few months ago and ever since about 2 months ago I started havin pain in my lower back when I run. So I joined a gym again after a few weeks off the other day and when I tried a squat I had to stop and I couldn't run on the treadmil at all. Was told it could be a pinched nerve. Does anybody have an idea what It could be and should I stop lifting and see a doctor straight away? Thanks lads...

Who told you it was a pinched nerve? People in this country throw the terms "slipped disk" and "pinched nerve" around without having a clue what they're talking about. If your back has been so sore that you can't run for two months now, it's time to go see a doctor or physiotherapist.

Also, once you're better, it would't hurt to get your squat form checked as well to make sure it's not contributing to your back injury.

How can we diagnose you on the internet?

    Go to a Doc please.

    Best of luck with it.
