No sound from speakers

    HELP!
    I have no sound sound from speakers. Headphone jack works fine.
    In control panel/sound speakers are the default driver and green bar is moving. windows seems to realise that the headphones aren't plugged in Reinstalled driver.


    Windows 7
    Toshiba satelite c650 (laptop)
    Sound Card: conexant cx20671 smart audio HD

    Sorry about the one man thread.
    Fixed the problem by:
    Unistalling the driver in device manager. Scan for hardware changes. let it install...
    shut down (not restart)
    that should work.

    tried reinstalling loads of times but kept using restart instead of shutdown.
