howaye peter could ye give us more details on what you weigh? height etc

medium to high protein, low to mid low carbs and low to medium fats is best

decrease starchy carbs as these spike insulin the most

if your not a retard you wouldnt be drinking coke, alcohol, eating sweets etc

eat as much veg as you want as they are fibrous, limit yourself to 2/3 pieces of fruit a day

oh and make sure your calories are less than what you take in.DUHH

    Hi Peter,

Can you give us a sample of what your diet is like at the moment then we can give you a better idea of what to add in/cut out? Cheers,

not exactly gonna prepare a menu for you but generally try and centre your meals around a lean protein source - say for example eggs for breakfast, maybe with some porridge, chicken or tuna for lunch, beef, lamb or fish for dinner, something like that. the rest of the dish should consist of veg really, try avoid pasta, rice. spuds are grand.

with that as a guideline try and control the calorie intake - losing fat means taking in fewer calories and letting your body burn fat to make it up, but building muscle requires extra calories as repairing/rebuilding muscle needs energy as well as protein. that's the hard bit, I find. as long as you keep your fridge/presses stocked with the right food (and only the right food) then the only hard bit is eating the right amount in the right balance.

Peter, this question is asked every week here almost without fail, there is a wealth of info on this forum on this topic, including the stickies, lots of it given from some pretty knowledgeable guys.
I think therefore a lot of regular "experts" will ignore this thread. Have browse round and you'll get a good supplement to whatever responses you get here.

    best of luck
    Rob
