Intolerant of cheese & dairy products

I've had an intolerance to dairy/cow based cheeses since very young.
I've never had it officially diagnosed but generally I have a very nauseous reaction to cheeses either cooked or uncooked.

I seem to be able to break down cream based sauces if they are well cooked and denatured.

What I have found is that I seem to be much more tolerant of goat or sheep cheese products and have only lately (in my late 30s and mid 40s) started to try out goats or sheep cheeses (e.g., chèvre, feta, halloumi).

Is there anyone else who has a similar specific intolerance to milk (but not goat/cheese) products ?
I can't be sure if it is a protein intolerance as opposed to lactose.

I've lived with it so long I am somewhat interested in getting to the bottom of it. I am a bit of a nightmare when it comes to Italian restaurants. I've often chosen items on a menu which don't mention cheese only to end up turning them away so I've gotten used to be clear that I cannot tolerate cheese.

    Anyone similar ?

I'm dairy intolerant but also with goats/sheep milk products :(

Have you tried those tablets that lactose intolerant people take in order to be able to digest dairy products? I believe they contain lactase which is an enzyme that breaks down lactose. At least you would find out if it's lactose you are intolerant to.

I'm highly reactive to any cow based dairy products but I can eat sheep & goat cheeses without any problems. My stomach is fairly intolerant of beef too so maybe I'm allergic to the cow itself!
