free speech talkbox problems

    I recently bought a danelectro free speech talkbox, but i have a problem. When i stamp off the talkbox to bypass it, and let the sound of the guitar go straight to the combo amp, it works, and i get sound out of the amp. But, when i stamp on the talkbox, turning it on, sound comes out of the talkbox and its tube, but absoloutly nothing comes out of the amp. I have it set up properly: guitar intto talkbox, talkbox to input of amp, tube from talkbox and into my mouth and the mic beside my mouth, and mic back into talkbox. Its very frustrating as i waited for ages for it to arrive and i paid alot for it. Can anybody help me out? Any advice or tips?
