I know ye all know this but be very careful on the roads tonight. I had to make a unexpected journey just now and there is floods and debris all over the roads...

I was quite impressed with my Vredstreins in the wet though..:)

Just to add to Corkie's post, take caution as it's very windy, well in my case anyway the car was being rocked badly on exposed sections of the dual carriageway. Give extra room and take care if driving high sided vehicles, vans etc .

I was making a short trip only on the N road for about 2 miles and the car was being rocked. I remember being surprised at how much I was being thrown around. I only got up to about 85 as the headwind was so great.

I had them fitted last week, I haven’t had them out in the real wet yet but they are supposed to be quite good. Well they are already better in the dry than the infinity they replaced (they came with the car not my choice).

My lights decided to quit on me when I was making a 60 mile trip to college. Didn't meat any cars so was able to drive on my fulls until they came back. Not the best night for that to happen.

I had my wiper linkages go on me last year during the same sort of weather, with about 100km to go... that was fun

I did Cork-Dublin-Carlow this evening. The winds picked up quite a bit. Drop the speed and when there's a lot of spray use the appropriate lights. It was almost impossible to see other cars at times.

I drove from Baldoyle through to town tonight along the coast road with the waves breaking over the wall and onto the windscreen, didn't make for very comfortable driving. Some of the roads looked like glass they were so wet.

Didn't stop as 4 other cars had...loads of Garda and fire brigade there on the way back.

Strong crosswinds down here at the moment. Was on the M7 just past Nenagh earlier and there was a Fiesta ahead of me and the driver was struggling to keep it straight due to the strong crosswinds.

Visibility was pretty poor in the heavy rain and lots of surface water on the motorway. Still saw muppets barrelling down the outside lane as if it was a clear day.

The missus did rathmines to navan and back this evening, said it was an absolute nightmare, especially the m50. Poor visibility and high cross winds weren't the main problem though, it was people doing between 50 and 60 in the middle lane and 100-120 in the overtaking lane, impossible to overtake safely.

I just Joined also to the forums and seen this thread!.. wow i have to say! we try our best to Promote Safe Driving! and when Drivers want to Practice there Skills in a car and there weather techniques they get Abused and your right it is outragues!..... this guy was off the Public Highways and still getting Hooned by these people!

I feel sorry for there Jealously also. they can Moan and grown about how spectacular the earth is! Yes its windy! its nothing new!! telling each other how much your car Swayed isnt the Idea! what you have to understand , is that we try our best to Promote safe driving.. but in this case its a very quite area with no Other traffic as seen in the video! there has to be lee way in all of this? is this guy putting your life at risk in tipperary?? no he's not! this is a very quite area with no other cars.. as you can see this guy has skill there behind the wheel! if this was on the main motorway systems or main roads it would be a different situation! and or if there was serious cross winds
