Just started a food log on this...

It says for my level of activity my cal burned per day is 2773 (without exercise, just for Seated, Some Movement), would this be accurate?

I would do usually 30 minutes either bike, swim or jog abt 5 times a week, and then 30 mins of weights 3 - 4 times a week. Which on average would be about 400 cal burned per day.

so that would equate to say 3150 per day burned, I eat apporx 2600 per day - would I loose weight on this?

    I am 36, 85kg, medium build, 5'9...

To be honest, I think Fitday.com overestimates the amount of calories you burn daily. It gave me an estimate of ~2,700, but I think MFP's estimate of 2,300 is more accurate.

As a whole, I prefer MyFitnessPal over Fitday. MFP has a lot more foods added to it's database than Fitday which is mostly just generic food listings. MFP also gives you a breakdown of the amount of Protein, Carbs, and Fat you should eat per day. It's also a much easier site to navigate and your food log is divided up into four meals, making it easier to manage.

Fitday way overestimates the amount of calories you need. I found that if I put myself in as bedbound, and then add in my exercise, I get a reasonably accurate number.

    Hey, thanks for the replies.

Setup account on MyFitnessPal and it comes out as 1700 calories per day - no way I could survive on that amount :(((

Think I will stick to Fitday, am loosing weight, checked scales this morning, have lost just over 2kg in 6 weeks, with a weekend away which would have set me back a bit... :))

I think fitday suits me alot better, always had a big appetite....

So will just keep up with what Im doing :))
